The Bundesliga restarting is a good sign of what's to come

Slowly but surely, sports are starting to come back.

After two months with no sporting events whatsoever, the announcement from the German Football League (DFL) and the German government that says play for Germany's top division and second division can resume on May 15th is a huge step in the right direction.

Although fans will not be in attendance, playing the games and finishing the league season in a timely matter is crucial right now.

It is interesting to note that two countries bordering Germany - France and the Netherlands - have banned all sporting events until September and have canceled their soccer leagues outright for this season.

The German Bundesliga is not the only sporting body that is getting events restarted.

NASCAR will have a race on May 17th, the Korean Baseball League has resumed, and UFC 249 is planned for this Saturday.

For those doubters who are skeptical as to whether sports should be played at all, doctors are closely monitoring team personnel and many of Europe's soccer leagues that are trying to get started are frequently testing the players, coaches, and staff to make sure everyone is staying healthy.

Players in Germany have been back training for over a week now and should be in pretty good shape when play starts back.

Will you be tuning in to watch live sports when they return in the next couple of weeks?
