The first Saturday of the season was full of goals. In all, 116 goals in only 28 games meant a feast for those watching. For the second week in a row AFC Killingworth ran riot, this time scoring 7 away to Shankhouse. Newcastle Chemfica not far behind winning a 9 goal thriller at home to North Shields Athletic 6-3. Wallington & Blyth Town both scored 4 in wins against Gateshead Rutherford & Alnwick Town respectively. Winlaton continued there winning start to the season defeating Newcastle Blue Star away 3-1. Seaton Deleval AFC also making it 2 wins out of 2 with a 2-0 win away to Percy Main Amateurs. The tightest game of the day went the way of Ponteland United with a single goal enough to defeat visitors Cullercoats.
