The first round of fixtures unusually was a midweek 6pm Kick off in September. As a result fixture secretaries tried to keep as little distance between sides to reduce travel with light fading earlier.
In the Bay Plastics Premier Division 40 goals in 8 games is a very welcome start, but 42 goals in Division 1 won the round.
The shock of the round seen Seaton Deleval beating Newcastle Blue Star. When the season was ended these sides sat top & bottom of the division and shows how quickly things can change in this beautiful game.
The late kickoff up at Alnwick Town was the pick of the games, with double digit goals. Visitors Wallington taking away the points with a 6-4.
A 7 goal game at Winlaton seen visitors Ponteland United score the first goal of the season, however this was not enough as the home side won 4-3
AFC Killingworth started the defence of the Premier Division title they won in season 18/19 by also hitting 6 without reply gainst visitors North Shields Athletic.
Those watching Gateshead Rutherford & Newcastle Chemfica also had a 6 goal game, the point's being shared between the 2 sides after a very entertaining game.
Our final 6 goal thriller of the night was down Cullercoats, where the home side defeated visitors Blyth Town 4-2.
AFC Burradon & New Fordley took the points in the local derby with Shankhouse. 2 goals were enough to see off a hardworking Shankhouse side.
The final game was held at Purvis Park with Percy Main Amateurs & Whitley Bay Reserves both unable to find a goal to take maximum points, instead sharing the points in the only Alliance game to finish goalless
