There Is Nothing Wrong With Carmelo Anthony's Slam Magazine Ranking

Slam Magazine ranked Carmelo Anthony the 15th best players in the league and he was all up in arms about it.  Responded to their post about it on Instagram and said "All credibility lost".  In my opinion, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this ranking and I actually think SLAM nailed it.  I haven't even seen the rest of the list and I can easily think of 14 guys better than Melo.  Just off the top of my head here are 14 guys, in no particular order, better than Carmelo Anthony right now; Lebron, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, DeMarcus Cousins, Russell Westbrook, Klay Thompson, Paul George, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, James Harden, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, and Damian Lillard.  All of those guys bring more to the table than Melo does.  Carmelo Anthony is a great scorer, easily one of the best of his generation.  With that being said, thats literally all he is.  He is so one dimensional it makes him so hard to watch sometimes and I don't know how Knickerbockers fans do it every year.  Anthony has never played defense consistently and only really puts effort into it when he is either A) playing on national TV or B) matched up against a top player in the league.  Him taking bad shots, messing up the flow of an offense by letting the ball stick in iso situations too long, and never playing defense is why he has never/will never win.  Teams with Carmelo Anthony on it have only made it out of the first round of the playoffs twice in 10 post season appearances.  Its not like he hasn't had any help either, he has played with plenty of players who have had playoff experience without him or have won without him.  For example, Chauncey Billups who is a former Finals MVP, Allen Iverson who literally took a team the the Finals by himself,  Kenyon Martin who has Finals experience, JR Smith and Iman Shumpert who have won without him, Jason Kidd who has a ring without Melo, Tyson Chandler has a ring without Melo, even Chris Anderson got serious minutes for the Heat when they won a championship after he played with Carmelo Anthony.  Melo is no leader, just a one dimensional player.  A great scorer who only has one scoring title, never made All-NBA 1st Team, and is currently on the decline.
