This Is the Only Time I Will Be Jealous of the 76ers
Never thought I would say this but I am actually jealous of the Sixers and their fans. Why could I ever feel this way about a franchise that has been such garbage for so long? Te answer is Joel Embiid. This guy has looked very, very impressive so far in the pre season. He's enormous, move well for a guy his size and considering the foot issues he's had, has good footwork/post game, is a great athlete, and even looks like he's got a pretty nice mid range jumper. Now I do have a soft spot for athletic bigs like Embiid but he isn't just that. If he stays healthy I don't think its crazy to say he could end up being the best big man in the league.
Its not even his numbers that are making me say any of this. Just the fact that he absolutely toasted more experienced bigs like Andre Drummond and Boban Marjanovic like they're nobodies. Then theres also these highlights from a game against the Wizards where he just rag dolls Marcin Gortat while getting rebound and even ends up switching onto John Wall and doing a nice job staying in front and contesting a shot.
Love how Embiid has looked this pre season. Again its not his numbers that jump out at me because it is only pre season, its more about what his feel for the game and physical abilities have looked. Fire on social media, bodying guys on the court, how could anyone not want the guy to succeed? Side note: He commented this on Chandler Parsons Instagram not to long ago, the guy is so awesome it sucks he plays for this franchise.
