Week 1 Assessment

The Week 1 matchup versus the Bears very interesting. Although, we came out on top 23-17, we only scored 2 touchdowns on offense and ended the game with a clutch sack by Brooks Reed on 4th & goal on our own 5 yard with 8 seconds left on the game clock. This might seem odd to a lot of people, considering the fact that the Falcons were a top 5 offense last season. However, the fact that its week 1, and Steve Sarkisan's first regular season game calling plays for us, may be the reason why our offense seemed a step slow. Despite all of that, Matt Ryan was still able to go 21/30 with 321 yards and a touchdown, one of which was a 88 yard pass to Austin Hooper where Ryan avoided a sack. The first game of the season is always a little bit shacky, and luckily we came out with a win. Hopefully, as the season goes on, the offense starts to click more, keeping us on track to head back the Super Bowl.
