NFL Draft 2017 Big Board 2.0: Impact Safeties On The Rise

NCAA Football: Fiesta Bowl-Ohio State vs Clemson

Above: Malik Hooker, my top-rated safety and no. 2 overall player in the 2017 NFL Draft (2.0).

Here's my second NFL Big Board for the 2017 Draft, featuring quite a few dramatic risers (and a bunch who fell). In parentheses is the position for my first Big Board (NR means Not Rated).

1. Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M (1)

2. Malik Hooker, FS, Ohio State (3)

3. Jamal Adams, S, LSU (7)

4. Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford (13)

5. Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State (4)

6. Reuben Foster, ILB, Alabama (6)

7. Jonathan Allen, DT, Alabama (2)

8. Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU (5)

9. Haason Reddick, LB, Temple (NR) - Reddick boosted his name at the Senior Bowl and Combine. Big Board 1.0 was a Top-5-at-each-position, and Reddick was not listed (Pre-Combine).

10. Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee (29) - Barnett's status as a pure pass rusher in skill make him fit for Top 10.

11. Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State (NR) - Conley takes the place of Washington CB Sidney Jones here (Injured, was No. 10), and rises from not in my Top 5 to No. 2.

12. O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama (12)

13. John Ross III, WR, Washington (16) - Ross is my No. 1 wide receiver because of his explosive ability before, during, and after the catch.

14. Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan (9)

15. Takkarist McKinley, DE, UCLA (NR)

16. Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida (26)

17. Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin (28)

18. Mike Williams, WR, Clemson (15)

19. Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State (8)

20. Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford (24)

21. Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan (NR)

22. Jabrill Peppers, SS/LB, Michigan (22)

23. Forrest Lamp, OG, Western Kentucky (11) - Lamp could be this draft's best offensive line prospect, and has the athleticism to play any of the line positions.

24. David Njoku, TE, Miami (19)

25. Garrett Boles, OT, Utah (42)

26. Kevin King, CB, Washington (NR)

27. Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama (33)

28. Zach Cunningham, ILB, Vanderbilt (20)

29. Budda Baker, S, Washington (25)

30. Charles Harris, DE, Missouri (NR)

31. Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina (44) - Trubisky is my top quarterback because of the physical and game-managing skills that his tape showed.

32. Caleb Brantley, DT, Florida (NR)

33. Tim Williams, OLB, Alabama (35)

34. T.J. Watt, ILB, Wisconsin (36)

35. Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama (41)

36. Tre'Davious White, CB, LSU (NR) - Opinions are rising on many cornerbacks in this class and White is a very good option for any team.

37. Obi Melifonwu, S, Connecticut (NR) - Melifonwu moves up here over Texas A&M strong safety Justin Evans, who I had at No. 34.

38. Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson (53) - A good Combine and Pro Day workout have vaulted opinions of Watson, but I still think Trubisky is more Pro-ready, despite his lacking experience.

39. Fabian Moreau, CB, UCLA (NR)

40. Adoree' Jackson, CB/KR, USC (NR)

41. Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado (NR)

42. Cooper Kupp, WR, Eastern Washington (31)

43. Teez Tabor, CB, Florida (14) - Questions with Tabor's Pro Day and Combine performances have dropped Tabor below other corners, but I still think he's a Day 1 guy.

44. Tyus Bowser, LB, Houston (NR)

45. Alex Anzalone, LB, Florida (NR)

46. Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida (17) - Wilson has had different questions drop his draft stock, and other corners are moving up the board like Kevin King and Chidobe Awuzie.

47. Joe Mixon, RB, Oklahoma (NR)

48. DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame (40)

49. Patrick Mahomes II, QB, Texas Tech (45)

50. Ryan Anderson, OLB, Alabama (NR)
