Greg Olsen On Pace To Break Records in 2016

Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen is having a great 2016 so far. Despite the Panthers being 1-5, Olsen is on pace to break personal, Panthers and NFL records for a tight end.

Through six games, Olsen is currently second in the NFL with 610 receiving yards, trailing only the Atlanta Falcons star WR Julio Jones, who has 656 yards. The closest tight end to Olsen is the Patriots Martellus Bennett with 362 yards (248 yards behind Olsen).

Olsen is currently on pace for 1,627 receiving yards in 2016, which would shatter his personal career best, which currently is 1,104 which came just last season. Olsen is also looking to become the first tight end in NFL history to have three straight 1,000 yard seasons in receiving yards, he had 1,008 in 2014.

Olsen is also on pace to shatter the NFL single season receiving yards record by a tight end, which currently stands at 1,327, held by New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (2011).
