After originally being reported earlier today that Josh McDaniels had officially accepted the job as the Head Coach of the Indianapolis Colts, recent reports say that McDaniels has opted to stay as the offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots.

According to reports Patriots owner Robert Kraft modified McDaniels' contract in attempt to get him to stay in New England. This adds even more fuel to the fire regarding head coach Bill Belichick's future with the team. While McDaniels' return does not guarantee Belichick's departure, one has to believe McDaniels would not have elected to stay if he knew Belichick would remain at the helm for an extended period of time.
