Jordan Greene - INF - Junior - Clemson

A 5'8 170 lb. infielder, Greene came into the season as a light hitting second baseman with a career .254/.364/.312 line with 1 home run and a 0.84 walk-to-strikeout ratio over 327 plate appearances in 97 games. He lost his starting second base job this spring, but has put together a very productive offensive season, hitting .252/.404/.432 with 5 home runs and a 1.4 walk-to-strikeout ratio in 142 plate appearances while seeing time at second base and as a designated hitter.

Greene is an above average runner, but most of his other tools are fringe-average or below. He has been able to get on base at a pretty high clip while at Clemson, but his hit tool doesn't project well at the next level. And while he has shown an increase in power this spring, his home run total has largely been a result of the hitter friendly dimensions of Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

He has shown flashes defensively, but has really struggled with consistency at second base, leading him to lose his role as a starter. He does have good range, and a decent arm, leaving reason to believe he could become an average defender at the position with some more work/repetition.

Much like Grayson Byrd, Greene would probably benefit from another year in college - demonstrating he can become an everyday guy at second base while also proving that his 2018 numbers weren't a fluke.
