And Still.....Undefeated

Last night the Golden State Warriors cruised to a 129-115 victory and eliminated the Kawhi-less San Antonio Spurs in a four game sweep. They were led by Stephen Curry with 36 points. The Warriors are now 12-0 in the playoffs and with the Cleveland Cavs slipping up on Sunday night, there is somewhat of a psychological edge that the Warriors now possess. Some could say that the Warriors have faced off against tougher competition in defeating the Portland Trail Blazers, Utah Jazz and Spurs respectively, and they are validated by the performance of those teams in the regular season. There however is the fact that the Warriors did win 67 games with Kevin Durant missing 20 games. Let's face it, the Warriors are and have been the best team in the NBA all season. The playoffs is the time to turn up the dial and the Warriors did that and frankly did what they were supposed to do. Granted it could be said that the Spurs could have been more competitive in the series with a healthy Kawhi Leonard and that statement may have some truth in it but the fact remains that the Warriors are now in their third straight NBA Finals. This Warriors team has already lived up to expectations by returning to the Finals and now have to close the deal. The inevitable matchup with the Cavs in June has been their motivation throughout the series and now with one of the best stars in the game in Kevin Durant alongside the Warriors big three, they look poised to cap this season off with a ring.
