NHL: Nashville Predators at Columbus Blue Jackets

NHL: Nashville Predators at Columbus Blue Jackets

Hello Everybody, Monday Night was a Wild Night for the NHL, All 4 NHL Stanley Cup playoff Games went to overtime. And what a wild night. What I have decided to do is give you an update on each game and then in the end you will get my commentary.

No.1 Toronto Maple Leafs vs Washington Capitals.

The Scoring got underway for the Capitals

Nicklas Backstrom had the first goal for the Caps

The it was Alex Ovechkin who scored

Then it Evegeny Kuznetsow who scored for the Capitals in a losing effort.

The Maple Leafs fought all game long and they were down for so long in the game and everybody was ready to count them out. Even some of the fans in Toronto we starting to worry about their Maple Leafs but they fought back and won.

The Scoring for the Maple Leafs had their players score as well.

Auston Matthews stared the scoring in the 1st for the Maple Leafs.

Nazem Kadri had the next goal in the 2nd period of play

William Nylander tied the game at 3-3 in the second.

And then the hero of The night award goes to Tyler Bogas as he scored the game winner in overtime

The Leafs lead the Capitals 2-1 and Game 4 is on Wednesday night. This game had everything. Here's my take on this David and Goliath battle. The Capitals had a Golden Opportunity to put the game out of reach and really put a strangle hold on the series. They had a 5-on-3 for 2 minutes in the Third. The Maple Leafs Killed that Penalty only to have a to many men on the ICE get called against them. The Capitals should have won this game on Monday Night but they blew it Bigtime.

This is a reminder for all of you Capitals fans out there this morning. You Better start worrying now because you are down 2-1. You won the President's Trophy for the Best Record.  But you have One Major Issue. You have yet to get past the 2nd round in the Alex Ovechkin era and that dats 10 years. So there's a lot of concern in the Nations Capital. And justifiably so.

No.2 Boston Bruins vs Ottawa Senators

The Bruins were down 3-0 at one point and everybody in Boston was thinking when's the Comeback coming All 3 Bruins goals came in the 2nd period of play as Noel Acciari, David Backes and David Pastmak scored goals in the second period for Boston.

The Senators thought they had the game Wrapped Up Early in the Night they jumped out to a 3-0 lead.  The Scoring got underway for the Senators.

Mike Hoffman had goals in the 1st and 2nd periods.

And Derick Brassard had a goal in the 1st himself.

With No scoring in the 3rd we went to overtime. And in the overtime there was a very questionable call As Boston's Riley Nash got a roughing penalty and Bobby Ryan of the Senators was able to score on the overtime power play to send everybody in Boston Home very unhappy.

Game 4 is Wednesday Night. Here's my take on this wild battle. This game had just about everything. Questionable calls and the Best players in the game were out on the ICE. But it was the officiating that decided this contest. Can the Bruins recover we will see. But Ottawa is up 2-1.

3. Chicago Blackhawks vs Nashville Predators

The Blackhawks have been outplayed all series. But on Monday Night they had a Golden Opportunity to get back into the series after being shutout in the first 2 contests of this series.

The only 2 goals for the Blackhawks came in the second Period

Dennis Rasmussen and Patrick Kane scored goals and everybody was thinking the Blackhawks were back.

But the Predators we not going to go down as Fillip Foresberd cored both goals in the 3rd period and tied the game sending this game to overtime. And in the extra session it was Kevin Fiala scoring the game winner with just 2 1/2 minutes left in the first overtime.

The Blackhawks are on the Brink and it's showing. Here's my take, Chicago is struggling badly and they shouldn't be. They had the Best Record in the Western Conference. They had the Number 1 seed in the West and they are playing very bad and it's showing.

The Predators have 2 shutout victories against the Blackhawks and the Blackhawks have only 2 goals all series. If I'm with the Blackhawks I'm thinking let's not get swept. But right now it looks like the Blackhawks haven't even answered the Bell at all. Game 4 is Wednesday night and the Predators are one win away from sweeping the Blackhawks right out of their Building..

4.Anaheim Ducks vs Calgary Flames

This was a Major Collapse for the Flames on Monday Night.

The Flames got the scoring started early and often.

Sean Monahan

Kris Versteeg

Michael Stone

Sam Bennett

All four had goals in this game and everybody thought including my self that the Flames were going to get back into the series.

But the Anaheim Ducks fought back and took the game away in the end.

Nick Ritchie

Shea Theodore  he scored 2 goals in the game.

Nate Thompson

And then in overtime Corey Perry was the hero as he sent the Calgary fans home very unhappy. And very unhappy the fans were. Here's my take on this one, The Flames had a 4-1 strangle hold on this game only to collapse in the end. This was not what the Calgary Flames needed at this moment They are down 3-0 and one loss away from getting swept right out of their own Building

Game 4 is on Wednesday night. The Ducks need one win to move on in the playoffs. The Flames need a win just to stay alive and not get swept. And no lead is safe as everybody has seen so far in the playoffs.

Well Ladies And Gentlemen there you have it. A long not in the Cup Playoffs is over, 4 games going into overtime and to understand how long of a night it was for me This Hockey Night in the NHL started at 7:00 PM Eastern Time and it didn't end until 1:20 AM on Tuesday Morning. So if you think that there are some people who think the first round of the playoffs doesn't matter. Let me tell you know it does matter.
