NCAA Basketball: Final Four Championship Game-Gonzaga vs North Carolina

Hello Everybody, I saw one of the greatest NCAA Men's Basketball Games ever played. The North Carolina Tar Heels beat the Gonzaga Bulldogs 71-65 to win the National Championship. It's the third national championship at North Carolina for coach Roy Williams and he surpassed his idle the Late Dean Smith.

Now you are wondering how did Carolina do it. Here are the stars for the game.

Joel Berry II was named MOP. He had 22 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. And this came despite the fact Berry had 2 bad ankles.

Justin Jackson, he had 16 points along with 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

Isaiah Hicks had 13 points along with 9 rebounds and 1 assist.

But don't sell Gonzaga Short, they had a couple of stars themselves.

Josh Perkins had 13 points along with 2 rebounds and 3 assists.

Nigel Williams-Goss had 15 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists.

UNC coach Roy Williams was a very happy man after winning the National Championship. But he did talk to reporters after the game and a showed nothing but respect for Gonzaga coach Mark Few. Williams said " I have nothing but the utmost respect for Coach Few and their Basketball team. They are a great bunch of kids and they threw everything at us including the kitchen sink. And they are a great Bunch of players and they are a great team and Coach Few has a Very Bright Future and those kids deserve a lot of respect and love for all college Basketball Fans everywhere."

Gonzaga coach Mark Few did speak to reporters after the game and he was disappointed but he did offer his congratulations to his friend Roy Williams. Coach Few did address the media and a lot of people said Gonzaga got robbed by the officials with a couple of missed calls with about 2 minutes left in the game. But Coach Few told reporters afterwards, " They were the Best three officials that worked that game. With all of the pressure on them they did a excellent Job working that game Coach Few told his players after the game

" You have nothing to hang your head about. You guys did the best that you could and you guys played your hearts out and I am very proud of you. We'll be back better than ever next year. But Again, I am very proud of you guys for what you guys did do this season."

Now you guys are wondering how did North Carolina Do it. Well Here's my take Carolina Should not have won the game with everything going on. Joel Berry had 2 bad ankles. The Tar Heels couldn't make a 3 pointer to save themselves and they got out rebounded. And they were horrible at the Free Throw Line. And here are the Numbers to back it up.

                     Gonzaga                          UNC

                       20-59        FG-MADE     26-73

                        33.9             FG-%         35.6

                        8-19        3 PT-MADE     4-27

                        42.1             3PT-%        14.8

                       17-26         FT-MADE     15-26

                        65.4             FT-%         57.7

                         49          REBOUNDS      46

                         14          TURNOVERS      4

Now you have seen the Numbers but there was a questionable call late in the game. There was a Jump Ball Called. But Kennedy Meeks Hand was clearly out of bounds and it should have been Gonzaga's ball. But It was Joel Berry II who was the hero at the end. Berry had 2 bad ankles and for him to give the performance that he did was remarkable. So congrats to North Carolina, They won the game and the National Championship. And it's the 6th National Championship for UNC. As for Gonzaga, You Guys had a remarkable season yourselves. You guys have nothing to hang your heads about. You finished the season 37-2 the best out west. And The Bulldogs took us on a Fantastic Ride all the way to the National Championship game. You came up short this year. But I look for Gonzaga to be as tough out west Next Year. So I am going to say this now, Look out for the ZAGS next year because they are going tough to beat out west no matter what.
