Cubs Register 100th Win

The Chicago Cubs won their 100th game of the season in Pittsburgh thumping the Pirates 12-2. It is the first time since 1935 that the Cubs have won 100 games in season snapping an eighty year streak, which is the second longest in Major League Baseball history.

Javy Baez hit a grand slam and knocked in two more for six RBI in the game. Kris Bryant launched his 39th home run of the season, and the two run blast put him over the 100 RBI mark for the first time in his young career.  Pitcher Kyle Hendricks was sharp again tossing six shutout innings in the game. Hendricks won his sixteenth game of the season, and lowered his ERA to 1.99, the lowest in majors.
