Opening Day in BeanTown

The smiles are back in Boston as April 5th quickly comes around and we put spring training behind us. Even though we say good bye to JetBlue Park until next year, there is still unfinished business to deal with in Florida.

The Red Sox start their MLB season by playing a four-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays, in Tampa. From Tampa, the red Sox will make their way to south beach for a two-game series against the Miami Marlins. This is a good way to start off the season, and the future looks bright for them as well. During spring training the Red Sox went 22-9 dusting off the cobwebs and getting all the rotations in. The Red Sox will play against the Tampa Bay Rays for their opening day, and will continue with a three-game series. It won't be until the second week into April where the real challenge approaches, playing a three-game series against the New York Yankees. The Yankees have made headlines too by acquiring some new talent such as Neil Walker, Brandon Drury and Giancarlo Stanton. Bringing in these players and also already having Rookie of the Year Arron Judge and Gary Sanchez. The Yankees are definitely going to be a big challenge in the American League. Still the Red Sox don't seem too worried about this due to the chemistry they have, and because of the new talent they acquired as well, J.D. Martinez. Martinez is excited to be a part of the Red Sox organization and feels that he can be quite the asset for them. One thing for sure is that baseball is back, and the Red Sox have shown before that they are capable of anything.
