Vacation is Over, Time To Come Home

The Red Sox had their fun in Florida and now are on their way back to the 617. While in Florida a lot of players performed well, and the bullpen was on fire. Other than the small hiccup in the first game the Sox left their mark in Florida. One of the players that stood out was Bogaerts batting at .357 leading the team in hits at 10. Half of those hits were doubles and also penciled in a HR for the stat sheet. Though Bogaerts wasn’t the only one to stand out, when it came to the Sox being at the plate. Mookie is batting at .333 so far and has already hit his first HR of the season as well. One player that has been quiet is Martinez only batting at .200 and has stroke out 7 times. It is still early enough for Martinez to bounce back, and now on his way back to Boston this might be what he needs in order to find his game.

Even though the Sox had lost their first game of the season to the Rays, Sale was outstanding on the Mound. Pitching for 6 innings he was able to record 9 strike outs and only allowed 1 hit as well. Price was also showing us some good number even though he allowed 4 hits, he got his first win of the season over the Rays pitching 7 innings and recording 5 strike outs. Price will be looking for his second win as the Sox play the Rays for their home opener on April 5th. The bullpen is so far looking good and hope to build on this momentum when playing home for the first time this season.
