Chattanooga vs Alabama; tale of the tape

Chattanooga was ranked at #7 in the FCS division before losing to Wofford last week. The Moccasins still look to have a great shot of making the FCS playoffs. For most FBS teams a FCS team like Chattanooga can pose a threat. We have already seen this year North Dakota State knock off Iowa. That is the same Iowa team that beat Michigan this past Saturday. Eastern Washington of the FCS defeated Washington State in the second game of the season. Washington State is currently on an eight game winning streak and rising fast in the polls. But for Alabama in the past five years they have put away FCS competition early and dominated except for 2011 when the Georgia Southern wishbone attack gave Alabama some problems. The last five years Alabama has outscored FCS opponents by an average score of 49.4 - 8.2. Alabama comes into the game with a 22 game winning streak, the nation's longest.

Alabama will come into this game with a huge talent advantage. The Crimson Tide has the #1 ranked roster in college football according to 247 Sports. Alabama has 16 five star players, 44 four stars and 21 three star players.

If you combine FBS and FCS you will find Chattanooga with the 130th best roster in the top two divisions of college football. The Moccasins have 0 five star players, 0 four star players and 5 three star players. They have one of the top rosters in the FCS division.

At this time it looks that Alabama's projected starting lineup might be the same as last week. At Tuesday's practice it was reported that Korren Kirven was working with the first team offense so we will pencil him in again as the projected starter at right guard.

Here is the projected starting lineup and player ratings for the Chattanooga Moccasins. Many of the Chattanooga players listed do not have a player rating.

Alabama's projected lineup averages 4.36 stars and an average player rating of 95.62. Chattanooga projected lineup averages 2.33 stars and an average player rating of 77.72.
