Mississippi State vs Alabama; tale of the tape

At the beginning of the year this was one of the two trap games on Alabama's schedule that I pointed toward. Under normal circumstances this would be a trap game to most teams. A big emotional win the previous week on the road that was a very tough physical football game followed by an early 11am kickoff against a team that has some talent and is coming off a confidence building win over #4 Texas A&M. I will elaborate more on that tomorrow on my preview and prediction of this game. Today we take a look at the tale of the tape of the border rivalry.

On paper, Alabama owns a significant advantage in talent. Alabama has the #1 ranked roster in college football according to 247 Sports. Alabama has on its roster 16 five star players, 44 four stars and 21 three star players. Mississippi State has a roster ranking of 28th in the nation. On their roster they have 0 five star players, 14 four stars and 60 three star players.

Alabama projected starting lineups and player ratings. There is one possible change in this weeks lineup. Lester Cotton has been limited in first two days of practice this week while Korren Kirven has been working with first team at right guard. So at this point I am penciling in Korren Kirven as the starter.

Mississippi State projected lineup and player ratings

Alabama's projected lineup averages 4.36 stars and an average player rating of 95.62. Mississippi State's projected lineup averages 3.27 stars and an average player rating of 86.72.
