CFB Bits: Week 4 Headlines.

Week 4 of the college football season resulted in upsets, near upsets and not so near upsets. TCU emerged as a threat in the Big 12 and Georgia became the clear leader in the SEC East. Here are some other headlines from this past weekend.

TCU Shocks the Pokes; 44-31.

The Horned Frogs provided the shocker of the weekend with the ease they dispatched Mason Rudolph and company in Stillwater. It was anticipated that the Oklahoma teams were on a collision course with each other. Now, TCU has to be considered a threat to win the Big 12.

Oklahoma Survives Bear Attack; 49-41.

Oklahoma had its struggles with winless Baylor in Waco. The Sooners trailed through three quarters before pulling the game out in the fourth.

Penn State Wins Last Second Thriller; 21-19.

Penn State needed a last second touchdown pass to win at Iowa; 21-19. After Iowa blocked a Penn State field goal, they put up a touchdown in the following possession to take a 19-15 lead with less than two minutes remaining. Penn State quarterback, Trace McSorley connected with Juwan Johnson for the last second winner.

Saquon Barkley Emerges as Heisman Leader.

He is doing it with his feet and hands. The country's best running back leads the Big Ten in rushing yards; (518), receiving yards; (335), and receptions; (23). His 358 all purpose yards against Iowa set a school record. A key block by Barkley on an Iowa linebacker helped make their last second touchdown pass a reality.

Gators Mastery Over Kentucky Reaches 31 Games.

Florida extends their win streak against Kentucky to 31 consecutive games. The game was an absolute heartbreak for the Wildcats, as they were either tied or led up until the last minute. Florida quarterback, Luke Del Rio game winning touchdown pass to a wide open Eddie Swain was aided by the fact that Kentucky had only ten defenders on the field. Adding to the gutwrench; Kentucky got into field goal range but a holding penalty pushed the field goal try to 57 yards. Want to bet if it was good or not?

Georgia Jumps Out to Appear to Challenge Alabama.

Whoa! Pump the brakes on that one, son. A long way to go and many traps left for Georgia, but they looked the part in their dismantling of Mississippi State; 31-3. Mississippi State had only 157 yards in total offense through three quarters. Georgia quarterback, Jake Fromm doesn't look like he will let go of the starting job. Mississippi State quarterback, Nick Fitzgerald had only 83 passing yards with two interceptions.

Alabama whacks Vanderbilt; 59-0.

The talk of a monumental upset in Nashville was quickly squashed by the Nick Saban battalion. One should learn to not poke the beast.

Pressure Mounts on Bieliema.

The Razorbacks fall to 1-2 win their 50-43 loss to Texas A &M and fellow beleaguered coach, Mike Sumlin.

Pressure Eases on Todd Graham.

The Sun Devils got a much needed win over Oregon, 37-35 at home.

Huskies Assert Dominance over Buffaloes; 37-10.

Washington passed their first major test at Boulder, pulling away from Colorado. The Huskies were aided by two interceptions, five sacks and a blocked punt return for a touchdown. Washington running back, Myles Gaskin rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns.
