CFB Upset Bits. Week 5.

I was shut out on my upset picks last week; although Kentucky came very close. Here are three more bold upset predictions for this week.

#14 Miami (2-0) @

Duke (4-0)

Friday; 7:00 / ESPN

Miami -6.5

Miami seemed to shake the rust off from their layoff in the second half of their game against Toledo. Miami was trailing 16-10 at the half, but exploded for 42 points in the second half on route to a 56-30 win. Running back; Mark Walton, tore through the Rocket defense for 204 yards on only 11 carries. That's a 19 yards per carry average.

The Blue Devils remain unbeaten with their win over arch-rival North Carolina, 27-17. Duke also had to rally from a deficit at the start of the fourth quarter.

This game will match up a good Duke running attack against one of the most talented defensive fronts in Miami. Duke has three players that have at least 200 yards rushing. Mobile Duke quarterback; Daniel Jones, has added 141 yards rushing and three touchdowns. He could trouble the Miami pass defense. They gave up 342 yards passing and three touchdowns to Toledo.

This will be the first true test for both teams; especially for Miami. If they don't get off to a good start; they could be in trouble in Durham.

Duke 27-23

#7 Georgia (4-0) @

Tennessee (3-1)

Saturday; 3:30 / CBS

Georgia -7.5

The Bulldogs impressed last Saturday with their blowout win against Mississippi State. Could a letdown afflict them this week?

Tennessee stumbled and stammered like an all day drunk in their 17-13 win over UMass. The Vols haven't been impressive at all so far. Could this challenge wake them up? They will have to have their improving defensive front to handle Georgia's vaunted running attack and create turnovers. The Vols offense has to make every possession count.

This game; in all intents and purposes, is Tennessee's season. A loss here and you would have to think any hope of a division title will be out the window.

Tennessee 24-23

#2 Clemson (4-0) @ #12 Virginia Tech (4-0)

Saturday; 8:00 / ABC

Clemson -7

I just feel that Clemson is due for a stumble. What better place than Lane Stadium in Blacksburg at night? Hokies head coach; Justin Fuente, seems to have that program back to the area it enjoyed back in the 90s and early oughts. Quarterback, Josh Jackson, has been great completing 65 percent of his passes for 1127 yards. He has 11 touchdowns to one interception.

Virginia Tech 31-26
