College Football Post Bits.

Week 2 is already in the books and it had a little bit of everything. It had the good, the bad and the ugly. There wasn't any major upsets or many great games, for that matter. But it was interesting none the less.

Let's start off with my first game of the week; Iowa at Iowa State. The 65th edition for the Cyhawk Trophy did not disappoint. Back in 2011, Iowa State nipped the Hawkeyes 44-41 in the series first ever overtime game. Iowa returned the favor six years later by winning 44-41 in overtime. The first half was tightly contested with Iowa holding a 14-10 lead at halftime. Hawkeye running back, Akim Wadley had 78 yards and quarterback, Nate Stanley was on target going 10 for 13. Both teams took a ride on the seesaw in the second half. Iowa had its largest lead in the 3rd at 11, but the Cyclones blew back to take a 10 point lead midway through the 4th. Iowa tied the game at 38 with just over a minute remaining in regulation. Wadley's touchdown reception was one of the prettiest you'll see all year; knocking three defenders out of their socks and drug another into the end zone.

Iowa wins the game in the first overtime as Stanley threw his fifth touchdown pass on the day.

The overhyped game of the week that put you out on the couch of the week was the Clemson / Auburn game. Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant continued his promising start to the season by rushing for both Clemson touchdowns. Just a minute ago, an Auburn quarterback was sacked once again. The Clemson defense racked up 11 of them on the night. Auburn quarterback and the savior, Jarrett Stidham passed for a sizzling 79 yards going 13-24. I guess the defense aficionados would appreciate this game. You guys don't get many of these nowadays.

Classless canidates of the Week...

I was thinking putting Baker Mayfield on here, but; nah, like what he did. Well deserved for torching the Buckeye defense to the tune of nearly 400 yards.

The no class award goes to Penn State coach, James Franklin. Following a dull 33-14 win over Pitt, Franklin proceeded to diss Pitt by announcing the game was no different from Akron and Pitt's win over the Nittany Lions was equivalent to them winning their Super Bowl. Jimmy is in full retard here considering the fact their stadium was filled for a change Saturday and Pitt's true Super Bowl win last year was Clemson; not you guys.

You know the saying. Pride before the fall.

Second game of the week and

Comeback game of the week.

Washington State over Boise State 47-44 in 3 overtimes. This game ended at 2:45 Sunday morning but I watched every minute of it. Mainly because I'm a chairman of the Mike Leach Fan Club. The dragons, pirates and pixie dust must of made coach Leach an ornery man Saturday. More likely it was his stud quarterback, Luke Falk. An aggravated Leach at halftime with a 10-10 tie at half became borderline rage being down 31-10 with 8 minutes remaining. He benched Falk for a series in the 3rd but Falk suffered a head injury the following possession. Backup quarterback, Tyler Hlinski found a groove and the Cougars erased that 21 point lead.

Washington State answered Boise State's field goal with a touchdown in the third overtime.

I would like to end this article with a catch that would make Odell Beckham envious. Here is Georgia's Terry Godwin and his beautiful touchdown catch against Notre Dame.
