College Football Week 3 Preview.

While watching the Steelers-Browns game, it made me start to look ahead to the next weekends slate of college games. I have three games that I'll make a short review on and a prediction. One of the games I was planning on doing was the Miami-Florida State game; but it has been pushed back to October 7th. Two other games have been canceled due to Hurricane Irma. They are FIU at Indiana and Georgia Tech at Central Florida. It will be interesting to see how some of these Florida teams look when they resume play. Of much more importance is the safety and quick recovery to all of those in Florida and Texas.

Clemson (2-0) at

Louisville (2-0)

Saturday; 8:00

ABC

The first huge ACC game of the year. The defending National Champions go into Louisville to face Heisman Trophy winner, Lamar Jackson. The winner will have pole position to win the ACC Atlantic.

DeShawn Watson's replacement; Kelly Bryant has fit into his role well so far. He had no problems in the opener against Kent State and rushed for both of Clemson's touchdowns in the 14-6 win against Auburn. The Tigers defense limited Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham to just 79 yards passing. They also racked up 11 sacks Saturday.

Clemson will need its best defensive performance this week because Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson has been up to his old tricks. Jackson was a one man gang against a usually leaky North Carolina defense accounting for 514 total yards of offense, including 393 yards passing in the Cardinals 47-35 win. The question is, can Jackson outscore Clemson as the Louisville defense gave up 28 points to Purdue and 35 points to the Tar Heels.

Being at Papa Johns Stadium could make the difference; but Clemson shows little signs of letting up. Clemson won last year; 42-36.

Fearful Prediction:

Clemson; 23-17

Tennessee (2-0) at Florida (0-1)

Saturday; 3:30 CBS

This game looks to be happening when its supposed to. The Vols have already been through a thriller in the double overtime win against Georgia Tech. They are coming off a tune up with Indiana State. Quarterback, Quinten Darmody has been effective but has to deal with the loss of receiver, Jauan Jennings to injury.

Florida is still salving its wounds from the battering it took from Michigan. The merry-go-round of quarterbacks continue with no end in sight.

The Volunteers finally conquered the Gators last year 38-28 after 11 consecutive Florida wins in the series. Tennessee has survived its battles so far and should be well ahead of Florida team wise. But you have to think Florida really needs this one.

Fearful Prediction:

Florida; 19-17

Kentucky (2-0) at

South Carolina (2-0)

Saturday; 7:30 SECN

This SEC clash may go a long way to shape the SEC East and the winner to challenge Georgia or a now struggling Florida for the division. There were high hopes for the football Wildcats in this past off season, but they have staggered out of the gate against Southern Miss and had to rally from a sizeable deficit against FCS, Eastern Kentucky. The Wildcats stumbled out of the blocks last year , but finished strong.

Will Muschamp's squad is coming off an impressive 31-13 win against up tempo, Missouri. They held down the potent Mizzou offense to 13 points from the 72 they racked up last week. Quarterback Jake Bentley is one of the conferences' best. The Gamecock will fly for the first time this year for its the home opener in Columbia.

Fearful Prediction:

South Carolina; 38-17
