NHL Unveils Name and Logo of Las Vegas' Expansion Franchise

Tonight is the night NHL fans have been waiting for since the announcement that the league would be expanding into Las Vegas.

Team owner Bill Foley and General Manager George McPhee were on hand at T-Mobile Arena as the  franchise's name and logo were publicly unveiled.

The Las Vegas Golden Knights will play their inaugural season in 2017 and will call T-Mobile Arena home. Merchandise will undoubtedly go on sale immediately as the league tries to create an instant fan base.

Attendees at the unveiling had some fun at the expense of Gary Bettman, booing the commissioner during his introduction.

Bettman had a little fun of his own, stating that they may - at some point - have the opportunity to boo him again when he's 'presenting the Stanley Cup'. Currently without a roster, they've got a long way to go to achieve that milestone but with good ownership and general management, it could happen sooner than we think.
