Mind Games

DURHAM NORTH CAROLINA- There hasn't been a bigger story this year in college basketball then Grayson Allen, but not the stories he or the University of Duke wants. Grayson has had 3 tripping incidents in the past 2 seasons and after his 3rd which came this year Grayson was suspended one game as Duke got dismantled in Virginia Tech 89-75. After his suspension Grayson came back against Georgia Tech as Duke finally looked like the dominant team they were hyped up to be in the pre-season with a 110-57 win Grayson tallied 15 points, 7 assist, and 3 rebounds everything was trending upwards. But the very next game against Boston College Grayson was hit by a screen at the top of the key and as he was going down his leg shot up and appeared to be a attempt to trip a opposing Boston college player but was ruled by the ACC inconclusive to call a trip, Grayson luckily survived a worst suspension from the ACC. Believe it or not the next game emotions were high down in Tallahassee against Florida State, Grayson was running for a loose ball going towards the Florida State bench and as he attempted to save it as he threw the ball Grayson appeared to purposely extend his arm and push a Florida State Assistant Coach Dennis Gates Grayson yet again caught the attention of the NCAA and opponents fan bases all over the country. But Florida State assistant put the thoughts to bed saying "I clearly needed to do a better job of moving out of the way like my coworkers."Through all of this no one has mentioned how Grayson has not lived up to his hype this season last year with a short handed team Grayson totalled 21.6 points, 3.5 assist, and 4.6 rebounds a game as Grayson played every game last year. This year as Duke was the top ranked team in the country and Grayson was said by some to be the best player in the country he has struggled, now it's time to wonder are all of the fans and players starting to get inside Grayson Allen's head? Grayson who is known for his shooting has really struggled from 3 point land in Dukes last game Grayson went 1 for 9 from 3 point land in a upset loss against North Carolina State as they got their first win in Cameron Indoors in 22 years. So are the fans and players finally getting to Grayson knowing that the NCAA is watching every move you make and every team is going to give their all to beat you, is the role of being the Duke villain to much for Grayson Allen? I guess we will just have to wait and see.
