Browns Looking for a Future

Another season, another wild card weekend spent watching division rivals win playoff games. Though, there is always something to look forward too at the end of a NFL regular season, and for Cleveland Browns fans it has been speculating on high first round draft picks. The Browns were officially on the clock following their overtime loss to the playoff bound Pittsburgh Steelers, and this draft will be crucial for the future of head coach Hue Jackson, and executive director of football operations Sashi Brown.

Choosing a franchise quarterback is difficult, and something the Browns are really, really bad at. From day one I wanted the Browns to invest in Eagles franchise QB, Carson Wentz. Instead, they traded down for more picks, and ended up 1-15 with a subpar draft class. Many critics gave the draft class a grade "C" after evaluating the rookies performance and output. Some thought we had our guy in Johnny Manziel, but his off the field antics eventually caught up with him creating yet another hole at the QB position. Enter RGIII, a once exciting Baylor product who could do it all; has now become the injury prone, "next on the list" quarterback, and will soon be searching for a job, hopefully after this draft. When looking at the AFC North quarterback list, what do you see? Big guys, with big arms, and big hands...we all know what big hands mean...WINS! The Steelers, Ravens, and Bengals have three QB's that produce wins for their teams and haven't had issues at the QB spot since drafting Roethlisberger, Flacco, and Dalton. The Browns need a QB that can sit in the pocket, deliver the ball, not mind cold weather and be able to take a few hits while Shashi patches up that butchered o-line. DeShone Kizer, Mitch Trubisky, Deshaun Watson, and Davis Webb will be the four QB's highlighted in future blogs.
