MLB Postseason Predictions

AL Wild Card Game 5 Baltimore Orioles @ 4 Toronto Blue Jays: The Blue Jays take this one because of the energy and competitiveness  of Marcus Stroman and the struggles Tillman has had in the Rogers Centre.

NL Wild Card Game 5 San Francisco Giants @ 4 New York Mets: The even year Giants cannot be stopped in a wild card game like this. Last even year, 2014, Bumgarner silenced a PNC Park crowd as the Giants eventually went on to win the world series. I expect nothing different in this wild card game against the Mets.

ALDS 4 Toronto Blue Jays vs. 1 Texas Rangers: Rematch of last year's thrilling series will be no different. Blue Jays have too much power on the offensive side for the Rangers to match in the postseason. Blue Jays in 4.

ALDS 3 Boston Red Sox vs. 2 Cleveland Indians: The Red Sox had an 11 game winning streak towards the end of the year, but stumbled at the end. I expect their bats to wake up once again and be too much for the Indians. Red Sox in 4.

NLDS 5 San Francisco vs. 1 Chicago Cubs: Starting pitching too good for the even year Giants to handle as the Cubs get past them in this series. Cubs in 5.

NLDS 3 Los Angeles Dodgers vs. 2 Washington Nationals: The Dodgers ended the year relatively hot which has historically continued into the postseason throughout the years. The Nationals seem to be a lot like their hockey counterpart; good in regular season, not a playoff team. Early exit for the Nationals. Dodgers in 5.

ALCS 3 Boston Red Sox vs. 4 Toronto Blue Jays: An AL East matchup in the ALCS. The firepower of the Red Sox will continue to be too much for this Blue Jay team to handle. Lot of shootout games, but the Red Sox are the better team. Red Sox in 6.

NLCS 3 Los Angeles Dodgers vs. 1 Chicago Cubs: Starting pitching will be the key formula to Cubs' victories in October and their pitching is too good for the Dodgers to match in a best of 7 series. Cubs in 7.

World Series 1 Chicago Cubs vs. 3 Boston Red Sox: Boston gets home field advantage thanks to an AL victory in the all-star game and what a world series this will be. I believe home field advantage plays a role in this series and helps the Sox squeak by the Cubs to break their hearts once again. It's very difficult to find a team that can match up against the Cubs' rotation, but if any team can take them down in a best of 7 series, it's the Sox. Bats will produce runs early and often for the Red Sox this October and they will not allow the Cubs to break the World Series streak. Big Papi rides off into the sunset on top of the world one last time. Red Sox in 7.
