Week 13 2016: Colts @ Jets Preview

?Week 13: ?The Indianapolis Colts will travel to New York to take on the Jets on Monday Night Football after falling to the Steelers 28-7 on a very special Thanksgiving Thursday Night Football game. The Colts sit at 5-6 and the Jets sit at 3-8 after their 22-17 loss to the Patriots. The Colts were without QB Andrew Luck (Concussion) in the loss to the Steelers but moved the ball surprisingly well, getting into Pittsburgh territory on six out of nine drives and failing on fourth-and-goal on two separate occasions. The Jets jumped out to a 10-0 lead against the Patriots before allowing 13 straight points and ultimately losing the game despite playing well against one of the top teams in the NFL.

Andrew Luck is expected to be back in the starting lineup for the Monday Night showdown. "I feel great. 100% ready to go." Luck said after Monday's practice. He still has to go through a full contact practice and get cleared by an independent nuerologist without feeling any more symptoms in order to be cleared for the game.

How will the Colts match up with the Jets?

Andrew Luck can certainly make plays, but how will his offensive line hold up against a very impressive Jets defensive line? The Jets have a very good run defense but their pass rush just hasn't been there yet as they are ranked 30th in sacks. The Colts are dealing with offensive line injuries which could prove to be a big problem for them as they have allowed the second most sacks in the league. The Colts have struggled in the run game this season and it doesn't look very likely that they will get it going against this tremendous Jets defensive line. The Jets secondary has been remarkably bad, especially veteran CB Darrelle Revis. Tom Brady went on to say he believes Revis is dealing with an injury after facing his former teammate in week 12. Look for the Colts to try to exploit the Jets secondary with their speed at wide receiver.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is tied for first in interceptions this season and has looked careless with the ball. Fitzpatrick is coming off of an impressive performance against the Patriots posting two touchdowns with no interceptions while completing 22 of 32 passes for 269 yards. Matt Forte has been solid for the Jets as he has accumulated seven touchdowns and over 750 yards. Look for the Jets to use the run game heavily and try to get the pass game going against a weak, injured Colts defense that generates almost no pressure to the quarterback.
