We're back at it!

Back at it, back in action! Back to work, back to the grind! We had a great training camp (intense!) and preseason has now begun. It's been a bit of a rough start for us, up and down. Honestly, for the vets, and we are mostly a veteran team, this training camp and preseason has been about getting healthy, getting our bodies right, getting into a rhythm. The regular season is right around the corner and we're all excited but the reality is that...it is a grind. We need to be in the right place physically and mentally.

Wes Mathews and Chandler P., our two wings, are coming off injuries and surgeries, but trust me they are getting right and I can tell you this about both…they put work in! Grinders in the gym. We'll be straight when they + Deron + Dirk all get back in regular season form. I have said this before and I will say this again…we are going to surprise some people in the West. Don't count us out just yet. #believeindallas

For myself, this has been a whole different training camp than it was last year. Last year, I was fighting for a roster spot and this year Coach lets me do more of my thing, to an extent of course. He does have more trust in me and expects me to contribute much more for this year. And I am determined to do so. Last year, I honestly didn't know when I was going to play or if I was even going to get in the game. I played more as the season went on, especially after the trade, but it was always a mystery what nights I would get run. This year, I look to help in more ways so we earn more wins. I need be ready to play and shoot that rock.

Okay, so that wraps things up for now. I don't know what else to tell you guys so I will simply just share this dope video the team at ESPN & ESPN Deportes put together. In recognition of the estimated 1.5 Million Afro-Latinos in the U.S. and Hispanic Heritage Month, ESPN produced this feature discussing the Afro-Latino experience....it's called One Nación. I enjoyed doing this very much, it touched a piece of my heart, can't lie. I'm very prideful of my culture. Que viva!

I'm out,

PS--I know it's late but today is Spirit Day! Most people that know me know that I am a believer in anti-bullying...my foundation program is all about stopping bullying in schools, online, just everywhere. Spirit Day is about accepting of others no matter what. Remember that. Treat others the way you'd like to be treated. We all breath the same air, we're living in this same planet. Lets be more respectful to one another.

PPS--I am praying for you my brother, Lamar. Queens. God bless you.
