Shelly Sterling: You could be the Heroine
The idea came to me this morning as I drove into work; Shelly Sterling could fly in to save the day. If her family disapproves of the racially charged remarks made by her buffoon husband and she wants to really make a difference, all she has to do is ask for a divorce.
I really could not believe it when I heard the broadcast refer to her as Donald`s wife but apparently she still is. They were been married well before he bought the Clippers and therefore, she has a right to half the value of the team if they split. Even if they have a pre-nup, I cannot imagine it would protect him from splitting the value of the team with her. While his fiscal value is in the 1.9 Billion range, I could not imagine he could just hand over 350 million (the Clippers have a value in the 700 million range) to her plus half the value of the other stuff they own. She forces him to sell the Clippers and he is out of the league without the NBA trying to flex their muscles. She has more than enough grounds and any court would be sympathetic to anyone married to that jerk; so have at it!
I know all about freedom of speech and stuff but this is a case of accountability. All the players, coaches, fans, etc. deserve not to have to deal with a guy like this. Shelly, you could make the move and end it swiftly. You might even make my Mount Rushmore of "Awesome" people. And no matter who else is in that pic, you could post it on Instagram!
