Chicago Cubs end World Series Drought in 2016

The wait is finally over, the Chicago Cubs advance to the world series for the first time in 71 years. The Cubs defeated the Dodgers 5-0 in game 6 of the NLCS. Early offense from Kris Bryant, Ben Zobrist, and Dexter Fowler allowed for Kyle Hendricks to pitch with more ease and aggressiveness. Home runs from Wilson Contreras and Anthony Rizzo gave the Cubs a 5-0 lead in the fifth inning. Aroldis Chapman entered the game in the 8th inning and shut the game down giving the Cubs there first world series appearance since 1945. Following the game Javier Baez and Jon Lester were announced as co-MVP's of the NLCS. Baez batted .318 with 5 RBI, and Jon Lester was 1-0 with a 1.38 era in 2 games started. What an absolutely terrific accomplishment for the youthful Cubs to finally give the fans a World Series appearance. The World Series begin on Tuesday October 25 at 5:00 PM PT where the Cubs will be facing of against the American League champion Cleveland Indians.
