Best Baseball Bets for Wednesday, August 19, 2020.
Yesterday, my bets went 1-1. That puts me at 2-3 now. My bonus NBA pick lost, so NBA bets are 0-1.
Here are my picks for today:
Chicago Cubs + 112 vs St Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals have their ace Jack Flaherty on the mound, but the Cubs offense has been hitting lately. On the mound, the Cubs have Alec Mills who has been impressive to start the season (2-1, 2.84 ERA).
Chicago Cubs/St Louis Cardinals under 6
This is the first game of a double header, so there will only be 7 innings. Both pitchers have been great so far this year, their combined ERA is just over 5.
New York Yankees -190 vs Tampa Bay Rays
The Yankees ace Gerrit Cole is 4-0 on the season and their offense is heating up, they're averaging 7 runs per game in their last 7 games and have won 6 of those games.
Houston Astros/Colorado Rockies under 12.5 runs
These offenses have been humming as of late, but both starting pitchers have started the season hot.
Texas Rangers/San Diego Padres over 7 runs
The Padres offense has been on fire, scoring 20 runs in the first 2 games of this series.
Bonus NBA picks:
Toronto Raptors -11.5 vs the Brooklyn Nets
The Nets played pretty well in game 1, with 4 of their 5 starters scoring double digits. They still lost by 24. This doesn't seem like a close series as the Raptors are firing on all cylinders.
Dallas Mavericks +6.5 vs the Los Angeles Clippers
Luka Doncic had an incredible game 1, even though the Mavericks lost. I think game 2 will be close, with the Mavs having a chance to win it at the end.
Boston Celtics/Philadelphia 76ers over 214.5
This seems like a low point total, I could see both teams hitting 105 points, with the winner scoring 115.
