NBA and MLB Bets 8/26

Yesterday, my MLB bets went 4-1. That puts me at 15-14-1 now. My NBA picks went 1-1, so NBA bets are 11-8 in the playoffs.

Here are my MLB picks for today:

Chicago Cubs -135 vs the Detroit Tigers

Jon Lester has struggled as of late, giving up 13 Earned Runs in his last 2 starts. He should get back on track against the Tigers. Lester isn't the only pitcher in this matchup who has struggled. The Cubs' offense should have a field day against Michael Fulmer, who has a 9.53 ERA, and hasn't gone longer than 3 innings in any start this season.

Kansas City Royals +153 vs the St Louis Cardinals

Jakob Junis takes the mound for the Royals. He has given up 2 Earned Runs in each of his starts, although he failed to get to 5 innings in either of his starts. The Royals offense should do well today against Dakota Hudson, who is 0-2 and has yet to go 5 innings either.

Kansas City Royals/St Louis Cardinals over 9 runs

Both of these offenses have been heating up, and they each face pitchers who have struggled, and neither bullpen has been great.

Chicago White Sox -200 vs the Pittsburgh Pirates

Dallas Keuchel will take the mound against the Pirates. I don't think anything else needs to be said. White Sox win easily.

Philadelphia Phillies -110 vs the Washington Nationals

Aaron Nola had a bad outing during his last start, giving up 4 runs in less than 3 innings against the Braves. He'll bounce back against the Nationals.

Colorado Rockies +122 vs the Arizona Diamondbacks

When two struggling pitchers take the mound, I like to take the better offense, which in this case, is the Rockies offense. They take on Robbie Ray, who gave up 4 runs to the Giants in his last start and gave up 6 runs against the Rockies earlier this season.

Colorado Rockies/Arizona Diamondbacks over 9.5 runs

The two starting pitchers' combined ERA is almost 15. These offenses will feast tonight.

Here are my NBA picks for today:

Milwaukee Bucks -14 vs the Orlando Magic

The Magic played admirable in game 1, but since then, they lost the next 3 games by a total of 44 points, each by 14 or more points. The Bucks finish the series tonight in another blowout.

Los Angeles Lakers -13 vs the Portland Trail Blazers

The Blazers will be without their leader and best player tonight in Damian Lillard. The Lakers finally hit their stride in game 4 and won't look back as they wrap this series up tonight.

Houston Rockets -3 vs the Oklahoma City Thunder

Tied 2-2, Houston will come out firing threes and will do what they can to take the series lead. I still think Houston is the better team and that should show in this pivotal game.
