To cap off a rough All Star Weekend for the NBA, The Sacramento Kings came to the rescue. After the All Star game Sunday night, Kings finally decided to part ways with superstar Center Demarcus Cousins. In an exchange with the Pelicans, Pelicans received Cousins & forward Omrii Caspi. The Kings in return received a .99 cent bag of potato chips.

The Kings were reportedly shopping Cousins throughout All star weekend even after Kings GM Vlade Divac insisted that Kings were not going to trade Cousins, who was expected to resign in 2018 for a 200 million plus max contract. Just Yesterday Divac said Kings had a better offer for Cousins but didnt make the move then only to re illiterate that Rookie guard Buddy Hield, guard Tyreke Evans, and guard Langston Galloway, and a 2017 first round pick  was the best Kings could do.

Although Cousins does have his behavioral issues on the court with 17 technical fouls this season, you do not trade a superstar talent to only get a role player and middle of the draft pick possibly for Cousins. Decisions like this from Kings management over the last decade still puts a dark cloud on them being unable to draft & build a quality team. They have a  another long rebuild now and they may want to give someone else a try at GM after this debacle of a trade.

Nevertheless, Cousins finally gets to play along with another top 10 player in Anthony Davis. Both superstars in their prime averaging about the same in points and rebounds, this duo on paper is expected to give NBA coaches nightmares for at least until the end of season. By far the most talented front court now, Davis and Cousins together will give defenses problems as the Pelicans attempt to make the playoffs possibly playing the Golden State Warriors in the 1st round of playoffs.
