FanDuel and DraftKings MLB Sleeper Picks - September 22nd
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Greetings my fellow DFS MLB fanatics. Your DFS guru CD Hill is back to give you my highly recommended sleeper picks for FanDuel and DraftKings MLB contests. I will be giving you these for games starting on Thursday, September 22nd, 2016 @7:05 PM EST. If any of my picks help your lineups today, be sure to let me know in the comments section below (at the bottom of the page) or on my Twitter page @cdhill81 & as always, be sure to keep track of whether or not the player you plan on going with today is in his team's starting lineup right before game time and keep an eye out for games that might be rained out too. Avoid starting any player that might see his game delayed or cancelled due to rain. Also, be sure to keep an eye out for my Bargain Bin Player (usually my cheapest buy) of the Day. This is the player that I consider to be the top value pick.

Note: For those of you not familiar with the wOBA (weighted on-base average) stat, just check out this link for a breakdown of what it is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WOBA.

1B - Tommy Joseph (only cheap on FD) - (PHI@NYM) - (FPPG on FD: 8.7 & Salary on FD: $2,300):

Power-hitting rookie Tommy Joseph has owned an outstanding .433/.500/.933 slash line in his last 10 games and is just coming off of a contest from yesterday in where he hit a long ball (his 21st of the year and a total of four homers hit now in that same stretch of ballgames). He goes up against rookie starting pitcher Seth Lugo (2.35 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 4-2 record and 39 K in 53.2 IP) next who's been very solid on the mound so far this season for the Mets, but this is a pitcher who also sports a career 4.28 ERA in 427.1 IP at the minor league level and an even uglier 6.50 ERA in 73.1 IP at the Triple-A level earlier this year. I don't expect Lugo to regress against the Phils' lineup as a whole later this evening, but I do expect Joseph to do well in this contest offensively against him. This Phils 1B is My MLB Sleeper Picks Bargain Bin Player of the Day that's available at a very nice price on FanDuel today.

OF - J.D.Martinez (only cheap on DK) - (DET@MIN) - (FPPG on DK: 9 & Salary on DK: $4,100):

J.D Martinez has now a solid two-game stretch at the plate collecting four hits in his last eight at-bats (two hits went for a double and another went for a homer). He's now holding an eye-opening .396 wOBA in 469 PA on the year and faces tough right-hander Ervin Santana (2016: 3.38 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 7-10 record and 138 K in 170.1 IP) next who's had a very nice season for the Twins in 2016 and who's managed to keep Martinez at bay at the plate for much of the time the two of them have faced each other over the years. However, at this moment, I'm willing to take a chance on this hot-hitting Tigers slugger considering the small slate of games scheduled to take place later this evening that don't have many ideal value plays at the OF position. If you're looking for a relatively cheap option at an OF spot with potential to hit one out today, you could do a lot worse than giving this pick a shot in any DraftKings competition you sign up for right now.

OF - Sean Rodriguez (only cheap on FD) - (PIT@MIL) - (FPPG on DK: 6.7 & Salary on DK: $3,300):

In his last 10 contests, Sean Rodriguez has been phenomenal posting a .417 BA & a 1.380 OPS and has hit an impressive SIX home runs in that span of games played as well. He goes up against Milwaukee starting pitcher Chase Anderson (4.47 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, 8-11 record and 112 K in 141 IP) next who's been awful this season on the mound for his team and who Rodriguez has hit hard in the past in a the small batter vs. pitcher history of only two at-bats. In that time, Rodriguez has sported a .500 BA and a 1.500 OPS against the Brewers right-hander, so he looks to be a solid bet to finish with an ample amount of fantasy points in this contest. He is the last one of my suggested DFS MLB Picks that I wouldn't pass up on today in any FanDuel contest you plan on joining later.
