DKGPP: Tour Championship 2017 Picks

Hello all and welcome to the DKGPP Tour Championship article! This is going to be a fun week for golf in Draftkings. The player-pricing makes building your lineups much more strategic this week because all of the top studs are expensive and its a little harder to go "stars & scrubs". I am going to mention some good value PP/$ plays and at the end of the article I will be sure to throw in some GPP punt-plays. Alright, lets get to the picks!

Matt Kuchar @ $7,700

Matt Kuchar is one of the most consistent golfers on the PGA Tour. He seems to always make his way towards the top of the leaderboard no matter how the week starts on Thursday. He is truly a Sunday warrior. Kuchar has been knocking on victory's door for quite some time now and he is rounding back into great form at the opportune time. With Matt Kuchar being priced at $7,700 on Draftkings he will make a great cash-game play or just throw him in as a core player in your GPP lineups, you won't regret it.

Paul Casey @ $8,600

I don't think that there's a whole lot that I need to say about Paul Casey. He plays great at this venue and the narrative is there because he has a lot to play for this week. With a great finish, Casey can vault himself towards the top of the FedEx Cup standings as he currently sits 10th. He has been playing some great golf as of late and I think this is a good week for him to rebound from last week's 33rd place finish. Hopefully, with him cooling off a little bit last week some people will fade Casey going into the Tour Championship, but I still envision him being pretty "chalky". However, you can't go wrong rostering him.

Sergio Garcia @ $7,900

Sergio is so under-priced this week it will make him a very popular Draftkings pick but it also offers a high ceiling at a low price. He has only missed one cut this season and he is trending upwards in form. He had a few weeks in a row where he played good golf but unfortunately not good enough to top the leaderboard. However, last week he placed 12th at Conway Farms with four rounds in the 60's (68, 68, 68, 69). He is another guy that you can afford to throw in your group of core players for your GPP lineups. Popular or not, I want a guy that pulls through Sunday and Sergio is just that guy.

Kevin Chappell @ $7,600

Playing Chappell this week is a good GPP play. I think he will be mildly popular because of his course history here but that won't stop me from putting him into a couple of my lineups. Chappell has been playing some good golf lately and I look forward to seeing him play this week. He is a guy that has burned me more times than he has helped me out in Draftkings, but I have a feeling that a lot of other people will feel the same way and hopefully pivot to someone else in his price range like Kuchar, Garcia, Simpson, Reed, Hoffman, or Finau. I wouldn't call him a "core" player but he's the kind of guy you could see at the top of the leaderboard on Thursday and beat yourself up all weekend for not playing him.

Now, I will mention some good GPP punt-plays that could help you differentiate this week at the Tour Championship:

1. Gary Woodland @ $6,400 (plays well here and is in good form/hit or miss kinda guy)

2. Daniel Berger @ $6,900 (he excels when playing on Bermuda grass greens/ball-striking was great last week)

3. Webb Simpson @ $7,500 (Webb has been playing well and he could easily be overlooked/low ownership %)

Well, I sure hope everyone has a good week and can be in contention come Sunday. It has been a pleasure discussing golf picks with you and I look forward to writing my Week 3 NFL article in the next couple days. Please tune-in and check out my NFL Week 3 Picks article because I have been making good money lately and I want you guys to make money too. Thank you so much for following me and please don't hesitate to add me on Twitter and ask me as many questions as you want! I look forward to the discussions.
