Theo Epstein is a happy man after last night

After last night, it is clear that the Chicago Cubs don't give a shit that it is an even year. "Year of the Giants" meant nothing to them after they eliminated San francisco from the NLDS last night, thus ending their season, which probably left many suicidal Mets fans who haven't left their rooms since the Wild Card game a little less depressed. World Series favorites since opening day, the Cubs took another step in their championship chase Tuesday night by rallying for four runs in the ninth inning of Game 4 to take the lead and beat the Giants at AT&T Park. I was ecstatic to see the Giants eliminated because, quite frankly, I was getting tired of seeing Bruce Bochy celebrate every even year. Seeking their first World Series title since 1908, the Cubs will get a few days of rest before opening the NLCS. Perhaps, the Cubs newfound success and bright future has something to do with the man known as Theo Epstein. Epstein became the youngest GM in the history of Major League Baseball when the Boston Red Sox hired him at the age of 28. In 2004, he was general manager of the club that won the first World Series championship by the Red Sox in 86 years and was in the position when the team won another championship in the 2007 season. I hated that fucker when his Red Sox started winning championships for a change, which meant the drunken assholes on Landsdowne street and around Boston actually had something to celebrate about in baseball. Despite that, i respected his hustle and now that he's the GM of a likeable team after signing with Chicago in 2011, I am all in for the Cubbies. I mean what's not to like about a team with two absolute studs who kicked cancers ass, a bearded ace pitcher, and a 6'5 hunk of meat slugger, Kris Bryant (no homo.)  Sure, there's the whole curse and everything but this team is something special and they might see victory this season for the first time since 1908. Theo seems like the type of guy to turn failing shit into winners in a short amount of time, maybe we can write him in on the ballot in November, as for now, he's got a championship to win.

Here we have, a slightly concerned Theo Epstein but still not panicing that his team is down 5-2 late in the game because he knows they kick ass.

Here we have a jolly Theo Epstein slugging a brew in the club house after his team knocked off the feared San Francisco Giants in an even year. Theo was a happy man last night.
