Right hander John Gant will make the start, replacing Rosenthal in this Monday's game against the Minnesota Twins. Gant started in seven games for the Atlanta Braves last season, 1-4/4.86 ERA/50 IP/49 SO holding a 1.50 WHIP. FoxSports.com ST. LOUIS — "The St. Louis Cardinals have parted ways with starting pitcher Jaime Garcia, dealing the left-hander to the Atlanta Braves for prospects. The Cardinals received second baseman Luke Dykstra and pitchers John Gant and Chris Ellis from the Braves.Dec 1, 2016"

So, we will see what Gant is capable of now wearing the "Birds on the Bat" uniform. For Rosenthal's sake, just hope this is a short term situation. Postponement is tough when one is taking an important step in sports. Another disappointing moment for one of our Cardinals.
