Mariners Daily 3/18

Make it 4 in a row for the Mariners who rallied to beat the San Francisco Giants today, 6-5. The Mariners only had 7 hits because the were being no-hit for most of the game, but were able to rally late with some timely hits and great plate appearances in which they drew multiple walks. The M's scored 3 runs in the 6th and 3 runs in the 8th to complete the comeback. Hisashi Iwakuma got the start for the Mariners and went 3.2 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB and 5 SO. It was tough to truly gauge his start today because it wasn't great that he gave up 6 hits and 3 runs in such a short time, but the 0 walks and 5 strikeouts are very encouraging. Offensively there were only a few players to get a base hit and of those Guillermo Heredia did well, going 2-3 with an RBI and broke up San Francisco's no hitter. Defensively the Mariners committed another error, this time on Tyler Smith.
