It Is A Brand New NHL Now Folks

Optional...

Last night, I was watching the Toronto Maple Leafs play the Boston Bruins.

Three Leaf rookies scored in a 4-1 Toronto win.

As I wrote in my NHL preview post (Oct. 12), the league is full of young talent this year and the youngsters are delivering.

I hasn't been a week since the 2016-17 season started and the young players in the NHL are making headlines.

Of course, we all know what happen in Toronto's first game of the season against the Ottawa Senators.  Auston Matthews scoring four goals.

In Edmonton, Oiler's captain, Connor McDavid already having six points in two games.

Back to the Leafs, during T.V. timeouts last night, head coach Mike Babcock was giving instructions to his young team on the bench.

That's exactly why Toronto hired Babcock.  He's good with young and upcoming players.

I believe the Leafs are going to go far within the next few years.

As for McDavid, his team faces the Buffalo Sabres tonight.  I'm anxious to watch that game.
