Laviolette Stays In Nashville

Nashville Predator's general manager, David Poile announced yesterday that he has extended head coach, Peter Laviolette's contract to two more years.

I say, why not?

Laviolette has had nothing, but success since taking over the team two years ago.

Laviolette has a record of 88-53-24 and accumulated a total 200 points with Nashville.

In his first full year with Nashville (2014-15), Laviolette won the Jack Adams Award, (NHL Coach Of the Year).

Nashville has reach the playoffs since Laviolette was hired in 2014.  He also guided the team to Game Seven of the second round of the 2015-16 playoffs, the furthest the franchised ever gone in the postseason.

Even before he was hired by Nashville, Laviolette was seen as a top notch head coach.

What a resume this guy has.

Laviolette has a record of 477-334-112 in his 15 year NHL coaching career that included, the New York Islanders, Carolina Hurricanes, Philadelphia Flyers, and Nashville.

With the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006, Laviolette won his first ever Stanley Cup title.  He also guided the Flyers to the Finals in 2010.

Now I'm not going to jump the gun by saying that Laviolette is going to rank up there with the Scottie Bowmans of the hockey world, but in the end, he'll probably be touted amongst the best NHL coaches of all-time.
