NHL Preview: This Year's League Is Full Of Young Talent

Optional...

Tonight, the 2016-17 National Hockey League season begins.

Now I'm not going to make any Stanley Cup predictions.  It is way too soon.

However, this season is going to feature young talent.

Players, such as, Connor McDavid and Austin Matthews are probably going to make the headlines this year.

Also, I believe there's going to be Canadian based teams in the postseason.  As you all know, there were no Canadian teams in the playoffs last year.

That's going to change.

I predict that the Edmonton Oilers are going to make it to the playoffs if McDavid stays healthy.

As for my team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, it is touch and go for now.

The team began the preseason good, but ended it badly.

I'm worried about the Leaf's goaltending.  Fredrik Andersen did not look good in net during the preseason.

Optional...

I do know that the Leafs won't have a captain.  "We didn't feel we were ready to appoint a guy," said head coach, Mike Babcock.

Besides.  Who are you going to appoint anyway?
