Rumour Mill: The Cinderella Story Is Probably Over In Ottawa

CINDERELLA STORY OVER?: Ottawa Senators goalie Andrew Hammond is possibly on the trading block

Remember about two years ago when Andrew "The Hamburgler" Hammond was the toast of Ottawa.

Well, that Cinderella story is possibly coming to an end.

Word has it that the Ottawa Senators are thinking of putting Hammond on the trading block, after acquiring Mike Condon from the Pittsburgh Penguins last month.

Here's what has been happening in Ottawa lately.

Hammond went down with a groin injury on October 28.

Starting goalie, Craig Anderson had to stop playing hockey to tend to his wife who has been diagnosed with cancer, (I had two members of my immediate family die of the disease.  I know how scared Anderson probably is right now).

To fill the goaltending spot, the Senators acquired Condon.

Now that Anderson is back, there's no space for Hammond.

Ottawa demoted Hammond to the Minors.

With three goaltenders on hand, Hammond is probably going to be on the move.

Three possibly candidates for Hammond are: the Philadelphia Flyers, the Los Angeles Kings, and the Boston Bruins.
