Fantasy Baseball: Draftkings Picks April 30th

With an exciting fifteen game slate, the SCFE team is here to help you navigate the DFS slate with our Draftkings picks April 30th article. After studying the slate, I’ve only found a couple of pitchers that I’m really set on for starting in lineups today. These pitchers are headlined by Dallas Keuchel, who isn’t the most expensive starter but has had the best season so far. I also like Mike Leake as a cheaper option in this slate, as he’s seemed to turn it around here this season. When it comes to hitters, there are plenty of stars and matchups to sort through. You can see that I’m focusing my funds in the Colorado-Arizona matchup. This game includes two of the premier offenses and the best hitting ballparks in the league. With all this in mind, here are our Draftkings picks for Sunday April 30th.

Draftkings Picks April 30th

Pitchers

Dallas Keuchel, HOU vs OAK ($9,400)

Even though it’s early, Dallas Keuchel looks to have regained his 2015 AL Cy Young Award winner form. Through his first five games, Keuchel is 4-0 with twenty-seven strikeouts, a 1.22 ERA, and a 0.84 WHIP. These numbers are outstanding for Keuchel, who pitched very poorly last season. For just $9,400 against the Oakland A’s, Keuchel is a great deal for DFS, and will be a common start.

Mike Leake, STL vs CIN ($7,900)

In his second year with the Cardinals, Leake has looked much improved from last year. After getting torched in 2016, Leake is 3-1 with a 1.32 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP. Even though Leake isn’t a strikeout pitcher, his control has looked great this year. When these two teams last faced in St. Louis, Leake threw eight innings of one run ball, and scored 23 Draftkings Fantasy points. Considering the cheap cost and a home game for the Cardinals, Leake is a great start today in DFS.

Other Pitchers I Like

  • Chris Archer, TB @ TOR ($10,500)
  • Joe Ross, WAS vs NYM ($7,400)
  • Miguel Gonzalez, CWS @ DET ($7,100)
  • Jesse Hahn OAK @ HOU ($6,500)

Catchers

J.T. Realmuto, MIA vs PIT ($3,900)

As the hottest-hitting catcher in the big leagues, Realmuto is a good start here against Pittsburgh. Kuhl was just torched by the Chicago Cubs in his last start, and Miami will have to take advantage of his struggles. Because of the poor catcher slate, I like Realmuto here at home against Kuhl, who has a 6.63 ERA this season.

Yadier Molina, STL vs CIN ($3,400)

In a poor catcher slate, Molina is always a go-to pick for me. Molina is hitting .284 this season, and gets a start against the struggling Bronson Arroyo. Even though Molina has a low career .200s average against Arroyo in his career, he has 57 at-bats of experience against the Reds pitcher. In a poor catcher slate, Molina is a solid bet to produce in this matchup.

Other Catchers I Like

  • Buster Posey

First Basemen

Paul Goldschmidt, ARI vs COL ($5,500)

Even though this is a high price tag, Goldschmidt is in a great position today to produce. The Diamondbacks welcome a struggling German Marquez to the mound, who gave up eight runs over four innings in his first start. I just can’t see things going well for Marquez in Arizona where the Diamondbacks have been dominant. I love many of the batters in this matchup, especially lefties. .

Jose Abreu, CWS @ DET ($4,200)

Abreu has been heating up over his last couple games, and I love his ability to produce today. The White Sox are facing the struggling Jordan Zimmermann, who has a 6.35 ERA through the season. Abreu has hit .500 against Zimmermann in his career, which makes him a great start in this matchup.

Other First Basemen I Like

  • Freddie Freeman
  • Cody Asche, CWS @ DET ($2,600)
  • Brandon Belt

Second Basemen

Robinson Cano, SEA @ CLE ($5,200)

Cano and the whole Mariners have a great matchup here today against Josh Tomlin. The struggling Tomlin has a 9.33 ERA through four starts. Robby Cano has some of the best numbers against Tomlin, as he’s hitting .412 with two homers and five RBIs in 17 at-bats. Even though Cano does have a high price tag, Cano and the whole Mariners lineup forces consideration in this high-scoring affair.

Brandon Phillips, ATL @ MIL ($4,200)

Trading for Brandon Phillips has been a great move on the part of the Braves front office. So far this season, Phillips is hitting .352 with nine RBIs. Phillips has great numbers against Matt Garza, as he .364 with six RBIs over thirty-three at-bats. Even though his price tag has risen, this matchup is definitely worth Phillips’ price.

Other Second Basemen I Like

  • D.J. LeMahieu
  • Joe Panik
  • Starlin Castro

Third Basemen

Jake Lamb, ARI vs COL ($4,700)

As I wrote above with Goldschmidt, I love an Arizona stack today against the Rockies. Through one start, Marquez has a horrendous 18.00 ERA, and now he has to travel to a hitter-friendly Arizona ballpark. Since Marquez throws right-handed, I love lefties like Lamb in this matchup, even with the high price tag.

Kyle Seager, SEA @ CLE ($4,900)

Despite getting off to a slow start, Seager is starting to pick it up at the end of April. Seager has brought his average up to .250 and hit his first homer of the year yesterday. As I said with Cano, the whole Mariners lineup is a smart stack against the struggling Josh Tomlin. Seager is hitting .500 against Tomlin with five doubles over twelve at-bats. I like Seager to work to break out of his slump in this matchup.

Other Third Basemen I Like

  • Jose Ramirez
  • Justin Turner
  • Nick Castellanos

Shortstops

Chris Owings, ARI vs COL ($3,800)

Even though Owings isn’t a lefty like Lamb is, it’s hard to ignore a hot hitter with a cheap bat in this matchup. Over his last four games, Owings is averaging over fifteen fantasy points per game on Draftkings. Considering this production and how much Marquez struggled in his last matchup, Owings and the whole Arizona roster is worth consideration for DFS today.

Trevor Story, COL @ ARI ($5,100)

Despite still being off to a poor start to the season, I like Story for DFS today. Story is hitting .500 against Corbin, and this gave has an enormous over/under score. Targeting players in this matchup is a great idea, and Story should have a productive outing.

Other Shortstops I Like

  • Francisco Lindor
  • Corey Seager
  • Elvis Andrus

Outfielders

Charlie Blackmon, COL @ ARI ($5,400)

Another Colorado Rockie worth playing in DFS, Blackmon has good history against Patrick Corbin. Throughout his career Blackmon is hitting .389 over seventeen at-bats off Corbin, and hitting at Chase Field is hardly a downgrade of Coors Field. Even though the price is high, the track record makes Blackmon a worthy start in this matchup.

Andrew McCutchen, PIT @ MIA ($4,400)

McCutchen has to shoulder the load on offense with Marte now out for 80 games, and he should produce well today. In his career against Koehler, Cutch is hitting .400 over ten at-bats with three RBI. For this cheaper price, Cutch is a solid bet to produce in this matchup where Pittsburgh will need to put up runs considering Chad Kuhl’s struggles.

Other Outfielders I Like

  • Alex Gordon
  • George Springer
  • A.J. Pollock

After reading through these picks, I hope you’re able to figure some players you want to target. As I mentioned above, I strongly recommend targeting the Colorado-Arizona matchup for your batters. Take a look through the pitching slate and see who you’re comfortable with. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a ton of pitchers I like today, but you may have other opinions. I hope you can all use our picks to formulate your own winning lineups today.
