NBA Playoffs are Boring... The Finals, though, will be EPIC

Due to the stacking of powers in the NBA in recent years, the NBA playoffs have (particularly in the East) have been cakewalks for the superpowers. The superpowers should make for a finals of the ages.

LeBron James, in all of his greatness, is the architect of this new age NBA. LeBron and Dwyane Wade constructed a powerhouse in Miami in 2010. At the time, LeBron and Wade were the two best players in the conference. They also added Chris Bosh who as definitely a top 5 Eastern Conference player. With that team in place, they went to four straight NBA Finals (winning two). Once Wade and Bosh started to deteriorate physically, LeBron chose to team with younger superstars Kevin Love and Kyrie Irivng in Cleveland.

Fast forward to last year, when arguably the best player in the West (Kevin Durant) leaves one of the few contenders to Golden State to join forces with Stephen Curry and Golden State. That effectively eliminates the Thunder from serious contention, and leaves the less talented Spurs as the only competition. Kawhi Leonard's injury sealed the Spurs fate though.

Both the Cavaliers and Warriors steamrolled their way to the finals (even though Cleveland is not technically there yet, but they will be barring something catastrophic). The finals should pit the two premier talents of this era against each other in LeBron and the lone man who can even rival him in pure talent in Durant. It pits dynamic guards Kyrie Irving against the new face of basketball, Stephen Curry.

I believe Golden State will ultimately prevail due to their star power. However, I think Cleveland is much deeper in the quality, starter level role players which will make things very interesting. Buckle up, everyone.

Warriors in 6.
