Capital One Cup Quarter finals 3 and 4 - 17/12/14

In today's post, I will be covering two games. The first game was played between Liverpool and Bournemouth which took place at the Vitality stadium. Both teams started the first half strongly, however, Liverpool got two goals in quick succession with Sterling and Markovic finding the back of the net. Liverpool went into the break 2-0, looking like clear favourites to make the semis.
Liverpool came out strongly, starting the second half with the same attacking intent. In the 51st minute, Liverpool's wonder kid Raheem Sterling netted his second goal of the evening to put Liverpool 3-0 up, putting the tie to bed. Bournemouth managed a consolation goal in the 57th minute through Matt Richie. The game ended 3-1 to Liverpool, with the reds progressing to the semi-final, where they will face Chelsea.
The other game of the evening took place at White Heart Lane, with Spurs hosting a struggling Newcastle. Both sides were playing with attacking intent until Bentaleb broke the deadlock making it 1-0 to Tottenham. Going into the break, Tottenham had a slender lead which was extended just seconds into the 2nd half by Chadli. Goals from Kane and Solado ended the evening in supreme style for the Spurs, with a comfortable 4-0 win under there belt heading into the semi-finals.
Tottenham will face Sheffield United in the second semi-final of the Carling Cup.
