Cricket world Cup Summary
This may be a bit late, but I would like to do a summary on the CWC 2015. Well... the group stages went well for the Irish and the Bangledeshi Tigers, but not so well for the three lions. They lost most of their games including Ireland. The Lions managed to get fifth place, however they failed to reach the quarter finals.
In the quarter finals India, New Zealand, South Africa and the Aussies all managed to easily reach the quarter's. The games that were put in the ballot were New Zealand vs South Africa and the Australian team vs the current holders - India. In the New Zealand game they needed a six from the last 2 balls and then Grant Elliot hits a six to get New Zealand in to the final. This left South African hearts broken! Back in Melbourne, India got a total just above 215 but this wasn't enough as the Aussies achieved this in 42 overs. Damn you Australia!!
Then the all expected final: the two hosts met each other In the final for the Grand Finale. The day before the game the New Zealand captain asked the 1.357 billion Indians if they could support the New Zealand team and yes, most of the Indians supported them! However the day was unlucky for New Zealand as they were 33-3 in 10 overs. What was even worse was that they just got to 183 in 43.2 overs. The Aussies were clearly amused and won the game by seven wickets. This meant that they were the 'One Day International Champions' as well as the Test champions.
