Cricket world Cup 2015 Gs -Nz vs SL and Eng vs Aus

Hi sports fans! This is another post from your blogger Hari. Today I will be telling you about the first two games of the Cricket world cup. These games are between New Zealand and Sri Lanka and Australia versus England. The first game I will be telling you about is between Sri Lanka and New Zealand. The game took place in Hagely Oval, New Zealand.

The toss was won by New Zealand and they elected to bat first. New Zealand got off to a great start in the first fourteen overs scoring a total of 111-1. Brendon McCullum scoring 65 from 49 balls - but then he got out. A few good performances by K. Williamson scoring 57 and Corey Anderson scoring 75 from only 46 deliveries.  New Zealand's final total after 50 overs was 331-6. The highest wicket taker was J.Mendis with bowling stats of 2-5. This meant Sri Lanka had to score 332 to win.

From the start when Sri Lanka came out to bat - they knew they were going to lose! After a while Sri Lanka collapsed and were bowled out for 246 in 46.4 overs. The highest wicket taker for New Zealand was Corey Anderson with bowling stats of 2-18. This meant New Zealand won the match by 98 runs. The man of the match went to Corey Anderson.

Now time to move on to the other match between Australia and England. This took place in Melbourne, Australia. England won the toss and elected to field first. In the first innings when Australia were batting, they managed to make a very strong score of 342-9. The highest scoring batsmen were Aaron Finch on 135 from 128 and Glen Maxwell 66 from 40. The best bowling stats came from Steven Finn was 5-71. Then it was up to England to score 343 from 6.86 RPO. 

England got of to a bad start after twenty overs they were 66-4. They had a few sparks but it didn't pay of as they were bowled out for 231. The highest batmen for England was Steven Taylor on 98*. The highest wicket taker was Mitchell Marsh with stats of 5-33. There was no man of the match for this game.
