"I'm real pissed at myself. I put this one on me." Redskins new comer Terrelle Pryor said after the 30-17 beat down handed down by the Eagles. A quote that really should embody how the entire Redskins offense feels. In a weird turn of events, Redskins nation now has to shift their hatred and vitriol towards the Kirk Cousins lead offense. A year ago, his troops could do no wrong, and "Just needed a defense to support them." Now, they had the support of their defense and in return got a lack of production from their offense. That perfectly symbolizes the Redskins in recent memory. A laughing stock that fixes one issue and another springs up. Like getting the oil changed in a trusty 1999 Toyota Corolla--with over 200,000-miles on it--only to have the front tires blow out days later.

In yet another contract year Kirk Cousins started slow. That has been the trend throughout his career. The 28-year-old signal-caller went 23-for-40 for 240-yards, and a touchdown. He was sacked 4-times costing the Redskins 40-yards, and also threw a costly interception while in the red zone on a would-be touchdown to put Washington ahead. Oh, and need us forget the Cousins fumble that set the Eagles up on the Redskins 40-yard-line; Or the fumble to end the game that allowed the Eagles to not only recover, but score a touchdown. Cousins, had as many yards rushing (30) as his running back Robert Kelley did. The aforementioned 6'4 wide out Terrelle Pryor was Cousins' favorite target hauling in a team leading 6-receptions for 66-yards, and the only Redskin to register double-digit targets (11). The lone offensive touchdown came thanks to an amazing Chris Thompson play in which he caught a Cousins pass and made a few shifty moves on his way to pay-dirt. Washington's other touchdown came thanks to a Ryan Kerrigan Pick-6.

The Redskins defense let up just a pair of touchdowns, but allowed 3-field goals one of which from 50-yards. Ryan Kerrigan not only had the pick-6 but also racked up 3-tackles and a pass break up. Bills transplant Zach Brown was a huge factor in todays tilt collecting 12-tackles, two of which for a loss. The middle linebacker was ultra-impressive in run support. To further make the point, the Redskins even saw lowly Bashaud Breeland make a few plays on defense. However, the real difference on defense came via safety DJ Swearinger. The hard-hitting defensive back brought swagger and leadership something the Redskins lacked a year ago. Junior Galette did not record any stats although he did make his Washington debut. A sack however was wiped away thanks to rookie Ryan Anderson lining up offsides.

The Redskins start 0-1 on the year and hope to avoid the deathly 0-2 skid that they incurred last season. They travel across country to LA to take on the Rams and former-offensive coordinator Sean McVay Sunday.
