It's Way Too Early NFL Mock Draft 2019
The NFL season just ended a week ago and already the excitement for this upcoming off-season is underway. The highlight of the off-season is the NFL Draft and this draft class has a potential to be LEGEN.........................wait for it like we wait for Tom Brady to FINALLY retire......DARY!!! The game of football is won up front in the trenches and this draft is absolutely STACKED up front! It's headlined by Ohio State's DE Nick Bosa followed by Alabama's DT Quinnen Williams, and Kentucky's, yes I said the predominantly basketball oriented school, DE/OLB Josh Allen. Obviously, excluding the Arizona Cardinals signing Robert Alford and Brooks Reed, free agent signings have hardly happened across the league so this a perfect time for A WAY TO EARLY MOCK DRAFT. In this mock draft, I include a BLOCKBUSTER BULLETIN BOARD worthy type trade that could DRASTICALLY change the NFL landscape. Will some of you think it's crazy?? OF COURSE, but in my opinion why would this not make sense? You'll just have read through and find out which teams will change the NFL landscape. With that being said.... LET'S GET STARTED. The Arizona Cardinals are now on the clock!
With the first pick in the NFL Draft the Arizona Cardinals draft..... NO ONE.... The Arizona Cardinals and the Oakland Raiders have a trade. Arizona sends Oakland the 1st overall pick of the 2019 draft and Oakland sends the 4th overall pick, 24th overall pick, and 66th overall pick of the 2019 draft.
1. Oakland Raiders Nick Bosa DE Ohio St.
Crazy way for the NFL Draft to start, but Nick Bosa is just to good not to go #1. Oakland has a dire need for a pass rusher after shipping Khalil Mack to the Bears and the Cardinals have so many needs the extra picks help. This trade makes sense for both teams. Oakland gets arguably the best player in the draft, still has another first rounder and Arizona moves slightly down to still get one of the top players in the draft and two extra picks.
With the second overall pick in the NFL Draft the San Francisco 49ers draft... NO ONE... The Jacksonville Jaguars and the San Francisco 49ers have a trade. San Francisco sends Jacksonville the 2nd overall pick of the 2019 draft and Jacksonville sends the 7th overall pick and 38th overall pick in the 2019 draft and their 1st and 3rd round selections of the 2020 NFL Draft.
2. Jacksonville Jaguars Dwayne Haskins QB Ohio St.
Back to back trades and back to back Buckeyes go atop of the 2019 draft. This would be insane, but this is a QB driven league. Haskins is the best QB prospect in the draft and with the NY Giants needing to find Eli Manning's eventual replacement Jacksonville can't risk losing Haskins to the Giants who pick 6th directly before them. You can look at this and say the Raiders should have to give more to move up from 4th to 1st, if Jacksonville has to give up that much to move to 2nd. This I'd have to disagree. Going up three spots instead of five is drastically different. San Francisco is looking to sell and will be able to drive the price up because of their position, but in the end both teams come out winners. Jacksonville can move on from Blake Bortles and have Haskins lead the franchise to a better future, and San Francisco gets more picks and stays in the top ten.
3. New York Jets- Josh Allen OLB Kentucky
Finally, someone stays still and picks where they originally started. The Jets are sitting there looking at Quinnen Williams and Josh Allen and decide to go with edge rusher in Allen. As enticing as it would be to have Leonard Williams and Quinnen Williams on the same line in the end you need to have edge pressure. As long as Tom Brady is still in the AFC East you need to hit him as much as you can. Allen is a freak athlete with the ability to bend the edge like so few can. Allen can help build the defensive dominance we use to see in the Jets of old.
With the fourth overall pick in the NFL Draft the Arizona Cardinals draft... NO ONE... The Arizona Cardinals and the NY Giants have a trade. Arizona sends the 4th overall pick of the 2019 draft to the NY Giants and the NY Giants send the 6th overall and 37th overall pick of the 2019 draft to Arizona.
4. New York Giants- Drew Lock QB Missouri
Remember how I said the NFL is QB driven league? The Giants pull the trigger and move up a few spots to snag Lock. Trevor Lawrence is still years removed from being eligible for the NFL Draft so the Giants can't keep holding off finding their QB of the future. With Haskins gone at #2 teams like the Broncos, Bengals, and Dolphins who are QB needy would be interested in moving up, but Arizona probably doesn't want to fall that far back in the top ten. The next logical spot for those three teams is to trade with Tampa and just like the Jaguars did, the Giants can't risk the QB they want being drafted ahead of them. Giants have Lock to go with Barkley and OBJ and Arizona gets another pick to help build their roster.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Devin White LB LSU
This may surprise a few people, but the Buccaneers just drafted Vita Vea a year ago, and Quinnen Williams doesn't make much sense for Tampa right now. I know Gerald McCoy is still a factor in their defense, but is getting up there in age. Adding an athletic LB in White to match him with Lavontae David is just too good to pass up. These two guys can make tackles all over the field. With the likes of Christian McCaffrey, Devonta Freeman, and Alvin Kamara roaming the NFC South these two LBs will not only be factors in the run game, but would be able to cover these pass catching backs as well.
6. Arizona Cardinals- Quinnen Williams DT Alabama
In this scenario, Arizona may have already won the 2019 draft with all the picks they have added, and landing one of the top three players in the 2019 draft. Williams is a force in the middle and with Arizona returning to a 3-4 defense gives them a MAC DADDY Nose Guard in the middle of that defense. He will stop the run and bring a pass rushing presence in the middle that Arizona hasn't had in a long time. From moving for the first overall pick Arizona gathered the 24th overall pick, 37th overall pick, and the 66th overall pick in the 2019 draft giving them two first rounders, two second rounders, and two third rounders in the 2019 draft.
7. San Francisco 49ers- Greedy Williams CB LSU
San Francisco drops five spots and gets the top CB in the draft. Greedy Williams is an athletic CB that San Fran desperately needs to add to their defensive backfield. Williams possess the ability to be a shutdown corner in this league.
8. Detroit Lions- Ed Oliver DT Houston
Prior to an injury plagued final year at Houston, Oliver was regarded as arguably the best player in the draft along with Bosa. He enters the league with a chip on his shoulder and gives the Lions an instant boost up front especially with the potential departure of Ziggy Ansah.
9. Buffalo Bills- Jonah Williams OL Alabama
Is he a tackle or a guard? Usually, guards aren't taken in the top ten of drafts, but after what Quenton Nelson did for the Colts this past season, good lineman can change the game. Williams was a staple in Alabama's success and will instantly improve the Bills Oline and help protect the franchise in Josh Allen instantly wherever he plays.
10. Denver Broncos- Jeffery Simmons DT Mississippi St.
John Elway hasn't drafted the QB position with much success, which is ironic enough for one of the most successful QBs the NFL has ever seen. The Broncos could take Kyler Murray or Daniel Jones, but instead he goes with best player on the board with Simmons. Simmons is explosive out of his stance and will press the pocket in pass rush. Add him to Von Miller, Bradley Chubb, and Brandon Marshall instantly improves a defense that at one point allowed back to back 200 yard rushing performances.
11. Cincinnati Bengals- Kyler Murray QB Oklahoma
Adios Andy Dalton. The NFL is a copycat league and the Bengals just saw what the Browns did with Baker Mayfield. Is Kyler Murray Baker Mayfield? No he isn't. The days of the 6'5 QBs who can just stay in the pocket are becoming a thing of the past. QBs need the ability to run and Murray possess the ability to take it to the house at any given moment. He was the best player in college football, and the Bengals are banking their future on Murray duplicating his success in college to the NFL.
12. Green Bay Packers- Montez Sweat OLB Mississippi St.
Clay Matthews dominance in the NFL has come to an end and the Packer faithful have seen his play decline every year. It is time to move on and bring some youth to the Packers edge rush. Nick Perry is still under contract and when healthy has been productive. Adding Sweat's athleticism to that defense with Blake Martinez, Datone Jones, and Jaire Alexander instantly helps the Packers defense.
13. Miami Dolphins- Rashan Gary DE Michigan
The former #1 recruit in the country had an up and down career at Michigan. Gary possess the ability to be a dominant pass rusher next level. There are durability concerns with Gary, but he is a freak athlete and the Dolphins draft arguably the biggest boom or bust prospect in the 2019 draft.
14. Atlanta Falcons- Christian Wilkins DT Clemson
With Grady Jarrett potentially leaving Atlanta for a huge pay day in free agency, the former Clemson Tiger is replaced by a Clemson Tiger who leaves Clemson as a two time National Champion. Wilkins is a disruptive force in the interior and will be a handful for NFL offensive lines for years.
15. Washington Redskins- Daniel Jones QB Duke
With the devastating injury to Alex Smith, the Redskins need an answer at QB. Josh Johnson is a journeyman and Mark Sanchez is Senor Butt Fumble, the Redskins need a QB of the future. Jones is a big QB with the ability to make all the throws. Jay Gruden gets a great piece of clay to mold and develop.
16. Carolina Panthers- Clelin Ferrell DE Clemson
The ageless wonder known as Julius Peppers finally hung up the cleats after a Hall of Fame worthy career. The Panthers need to address the pass rush and Ferrell can do just that. Fills a huge need for Panthers.
17. Cleveland Browns- D.K. Metcalf WR Ole Miss
It feels just weird not having the Browns picking in the top five, but times are certainly changing for the Browns. Baker Mayfield, Denzel Ward, and Nick Chubb contributed right away as rookies and have the Browns eyeing a potential playoff appearance next season. Give Mayfield a big target on the outside like Metcalf, add him to David Njoku, and let Jarvis Landry work the slot the Browns have aerial attack that is a force to be reckoned with.
18. Minnesota Vikings- Andre Dillard OT Washington St.
The Vikings need to protect their 82 million guaranteed investment in Kirk Cousins. Dillard is a long athletic lineman who instantly helps the Vikings day one.
19. Tennessee Titans- Dexter Lawrence DT Clemson
Unfortunately, Lawrence stock was hurt due to his suspension because of a failed drug test which held him out of the College Football Playoff. As long as he can move past this and convince the GMs in the NFL that his failed drug test isn't in his future, Lawrence is a HUGE asset at 6'4 350 lbs. He will immediately take up double teams and take pressure off Jurrell Casey. Will add a much needed presence on the Titans defensive line.
20. Pittsburgh Steelers- Devin Bush LB Michigan
With the loss of Ryan Shazier to the Steelers front seven, Pittsburgh needs to fill the void. Bush is undersized, but plays with great instincts. He will be a force in the run game and will make a significant impact in the passing game for Pittsburgh.
21. Seattle Seahawks- Cody Ford OT Oklahoma
The Seahawks improved in protecting Russell Wilson, but you can't deny the need to continue improving the protection around Wilson. Ford is a long athletic tackle who you can put on the right side day one.
22. Baltimore Ravens- Marquise Brown WR Oklahoma
An explosive WR who can play anywhere on the field. Gives Lamar Jackson a WR to grow with and will be an instant deep shot. Needs to add size to survive the physicality of the NFL.
23. Houston Texans- Jawaan Taylor OT Florida
When you have a franchise QB in place you do whatever it takes to keep him standing. Taylor is a powerful OT who fills a major need on the Texans offensive line. Plays with a nastiness you expect an offensive lineman to have.
24. Arizona Cardinals- Deionte Thompson S Alabama
After trading down twice, the Cardinals reap the benefits of second first round pick. Antoine Bethea is a leader, but his best days are behind him and Tre Boston looks to capitalize on a good season in Arizona in free agency leaving Arizona a huge void in the secondary. The signing of Alford covers the #2 CB spot next to Patrick Peterson so Thompson fills a huge need. A smart player that was a leader on Alabama's defense.
25. Philadelphia Eagles- Deandre Baker CB Georgia
The Eagles went through CB's like candy. No one could stay healthy. The secondary has talent, but Baker's talent is to good to pass up at this position. A physical CB who will bring a toughness to the secondary

THE BLOCKBUSTER BULLETIN BOARD WORTHY TRADE THAT WOULD CHANGE THE NFL LANDSCAPE AS WE KNOW IT.
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts have a trade. The Steelers trade disgruntled players WR Antonio Brown and RB Le'veon Bell to the Colts for 26th overall pick, 34th overall pick, 59th overall pick, and 90th overall pick in the 2019 draft and their 2020 1st & 3rd round pick.
26. Pittsburgh Steelers- A.J. Brown WR Ole Miss
I know what you are thinking there is no way that this could happen and you are probably right, but the deal makes sense. Antonio Brown and Jerry Rice have voiced their interest in becoming 49ers but there is no way San Francisco trades a top ten pick for Antonio Brown. Le'veon Bell has been connected to the Colts before and he would be a good fit there. The Steelers get two firsts, two seconds, and two thirds for players who have no interest in being there. You can't deny the value the Steelers and Colts would receive. The Colts get two of the best players in the NFL and match them with a healthy Andrew Luck and a revamped offensive line makes the Colts Super Bowl contenders. The Steelers don't lose a step in the fact JuJu has shown the ability to be #1 WR and James Connor can give the Steelers effective run game. You draft AJ Brown to put in the slot on the inside of Juju and James Washington and Big Ben can still sling it around all over the place.
27. Oakland Raiders- N'Keal Harry WR Arizona St.
Jon Gruden gets the pass rusher to replace Khalil Mack and draft the WR to replace Amari Cooper. N'Keal Harry is a physical WR who is a PLAYMAKER. Gives Derek Carr a big target.
28. Los Angeles Chargers- Dre'Mont Jones DT Ohio St.
The Chargers are looking at an off-season that can see their interior defensive line disappear which is why Jones makes sense for them. Has a great get off and will create pressure in the middle. Add his talents to Melvin Ingram, Joey Bosa, and Derwin James the Chargers look to compete and help Phillip Rivers reach that ever elusive Super Bowl appearance.
29. Kansas City Chiefs- Jachai Polite OLB Florida
Dee Ford may be the single most hated man in Kansas City and probably hated by most NFL Fans, but regardless after the year he had he will get paid in free agency. Justin Houston is an effective pass rusher when healthy, but his production has declined. Polite is an explosive athlete who could replace the loss of Ford.
30. Green Bay Packers- TJ Hockerson TE Iowa
The Jimmy Graham project was a dud in his first year and isn't worth the money for the production he put up. Either Jimmy Graham takes a pay-cut or he gets cut. The Packers give Rodgers Hockerson, a young athletic TE who gets to play with one of the best QBs in the NFL.
31. Los Angeles Rams- Greg Little OT Ole Miss
Andrew Whitworth is one of the best left tackles in the game. Father time is undefeated and creeping on Whitworth and his window of being elite is closing. Draft Little and develop him in year one and maybe year two if Whitworth is still playing at a high level and then plug him in.
32. New England Patriots- Byron Murphy CB Washington
Once again the Patriots are on top of the NFL. They could draft a QB to be the successor of Tom Brady but that still could be four years from now. They take Murphy who has great ball skills, competes at high level, and will fit into what the Patriots do. Wouldn't be surprised if they traded the pick.
