5 underdog teams which gonna perform well in the world cup 2018
World Cup qualifications are finally over and we already know all the teams that will go to Russia to fight for the precious trophy.
It was a great journey seeing all the national teams around the world to compete each other for the magic ticket which leads to this summer's world cup.
Argentina, Brazil, Germany, France, Spain and other great teams will be the favorites for this Cup.Italy and Netherlands unfortunately didn't make it to the end and we are going to miss them a lot .
Except for the well known great teams there are teama that i expect to perform well in this World cup so i will represent them to you.
These are the 5 underdog teams i expect to do well in the tournament
So le'ts begin.
IRAN
Maybe the best Asia' s represantor in world cup 2018 in russia. Iran had a great performance in the group stages for the summer's tournament. Having an amazing amount of goals -26- and only 3 goals conceded iran calls "presence" and ready to face stronger teams.
Carlos Queiro kept his team undefeated during the qualificaiotn group stages and why not remain undefeated in the world cup.At least in the group stages.
Iran has 4 appearences in the world cups and now has the 34th place in the nations fifa ranking.
ICELAND
Iceland were without doubt one of the surprise packages of the last edition of Euro 2016 .They not only manage to qualify to the round of 16 but they threw England out of the tournament before facing France in the quarter finals.
Swedish coach Lars Lagerback had to face strong teams like Croatia Ukraine and Turkey but they succeed to beat the odds once again and ended up in the 1st potition with 7 wins, 1 draws and 2 losses.
Players like Gylfi Sigurdsson and Birkir Bjarnason led Iceland to the 1st time appearance in the World cup.Iceland has currently the 21st spot in the Fifa nations ranking.
COLOMBIA
Colombia didn't impress so much in the group stages for the qualification of the world cup 2018, but i couldn't leave her out because of the many taleneted players the team has.
Under the guidance of coach Jose Pekerman, Colombia have become a great attacking and dangerous team.Players like James Rodriguez, Cuadrado, and Radamel Falcao can cause easily problems for every enemy team.
Colombia had 7 wins,6 draws and 5 losses in the group stage having Brazil and Argentina in the same group.Taugh teams to face right?
They manage to finish 4th in the group but the motivation for the world cup will be bigger.Colombia has 5 appearances in the world cup and the teams spot in the fifa's national ranking is 13.
SERBIA
Serbia managed to finish 1st in a not so easy group aganist Wales and Republic of Ireland and got the magic ticket in the world cup 2018.And how not to do it after they have players like Ivanovic, Nastasic and Mitrovic and a brilliant coach like Slavoljub Muslin.
Serbia had 7 wins 3 draws and only 1 defeat in the group stages.
The national team has 11 appearances in the world cup 2018 and Fifa has spot them in the 38th place in the national team rankings.
They were missing in the 2014s world cup and they did the expected come back.
DENMARK
What a dominant win against the Republic of Ireland that was.Denmark may found it hard to defeat Irish in their home but finally they did it with style.
Morten Olsen's team had 6 wins ,2 draws and 1 defeat in the group stages facing teams like Poland and Romania and finally got the ticket in the play offs.
The team's biggest star is of course Cristian Eriksen who can literally do all the work up front. Michael Krohn-Dehli, Simon Kjaer and Nicklas Bendtner seems to be in a great from as well.The name Schmeichel has returned between the posts in the form of Kasper, son of legendary Danish goalkeeper.
